45 was auto-debited in one no. in which 19 pack was activated , last month, after a couple of months gap. SV expired yesterday but no auto-debit occurred. No message regarding it was sent earlier. In a couple of other nos. in which 19 pack was activated about 10 days ago only 79/99 auto-debit was mentioned that too opt-in.

Not sure about this, can anyone pls confirm whether auto deduction is still present from Airtel main Talktime balance if someone not recharged after their outgoing service are stopped?
Me too heard in IVR on 198 that Rs.45 will be auto deducted if not recharged, (as my outgoing calls will be stopped by tomorrow), but don’t know whether this coming from airtel is reliable

what is USSD for enabling auto debit?
Usually gets enabled automatically when your SV expires..
not sure as of now after new plan changed after 26th November
Called airtel customer care to enquire same, they are as usual clueless
Even in my number autodebit of 45 didn’t happen…
It was happening for automatically for 6 months now..
But after the price increase..no autodebit..
Kept 70₹ talktime to check..but didn’t work..
Also any way to do recharge using main balance? Any ussd working?

You just need to have 155×0.96=149TT
dimer mentioned its not working – still u can try with different rchg plans and see if it works for u for some plan

Latest update:
Jio has already filed a case against VI to TRAI (for providing SMS in minimum plan of Rs.179 and not below)
On one of my numbers the pack expired on Nov 28, now the account has balance ₹400, but it says service locked. Can’t use any USSD to add from other number’s balance. Is there a grace period or will I lose the number if I don’t recharge now? TIA
TRAI has asked telcos not to stop sms for port and allow in all kind of plans. So Jio complaint worked. But the thing is they have asked with every plan and now min. plan is 98 with Jio itself. Airtel has 19, Vi has 79 and BSNL 49.

90 days of no usage. To be on the safe side OG calls/SMS. Some deduction of the talktime balance. Rs 19 pack is still available. If lucky enough 45 auto-debit could occur after it’s expiry. Airtel is much more generous in this regard nowadays. One of has seen no usage since late May. Balance was only 50 odd so not much of a risk. In my other nos. with considerable balance I recharged with 19 recently.
Unfortunately Jio has no reason to complain about Airtel and recently Vi not allowing usage of main balance for activating any/most pack(s). TRAI couldn’t give a rat’s ass about complaints from the individual consumers.

That’s DoT’s standard procedure. Just a copy-paste job. No follow up ever. At least they responded promptly enough this time. Once they responded to my tweet a mere 2 months later.
