Airtel unlimited 5g not working

I recharged yesterday with 5g unlimited eligible plan and claimed 5g offer. According to them 5g should be unlimited after existing data is consumed. This doesn't seem to be working even though Airtel app shows 5g unlimited. I have strong 5g signal at home and after exhausting current daily limit 5g data is not working. I see lot of users on Twitter complaining about that. Anyone here got lucky and working?
Jio unlimited 5g is far better with no restrictions and usable for hotspot as well.

One dimer had posted that the issue got resolved after lodging a complaint with the customer service...
P.S. Hotspot is still blocked in Airtel 5G?
such is the dominance of Jio that you can't ignore the benefits even if you want to. I am a long time Airtel user still feeling sad to miss out. Need a better opposition here as well
I raised this on twitter. Let's see if they can resolve or recommend anything.

Please share here.
It was working fine for me, from last week it’s getting consumed from my 4g balance.

Hotspot was never blocked for me but it consumes from your daily data limit instead of unlimited 5g.

Thanks for the clarification. Only need to use up balance in one remaining Airtel no. and planning to activate any data heavy pack in order to stream the Ashes next month. If hotspot was blocked would have needed to recharge Jio Fiber.
My dad is having Airtel sim, (corporate connection) , from last 1 month I'm using his hotspot since Airtel fiber guys are careless to re activate my connection, using hotspot itself,it's not getting deducted from his data balance, how much ever i use, i didn't know Airtel deducts from data balance while using hotspot coz that was not happening in my case , but now it's getting consumed as you mentioned so ig rip unlimited 5G
The Rs 1799 pack isn't eligible for UL 5G but after I finally updated the device software to enable 5G NSA, a 24GB daily data addon was added to my account for some reason. But it's of no use as data gets deducted from the original pack.
Someone on reddit mentioned that unlimited 5g works only for 5g+ signals.

Based on that here is my observation as I moved the phone around the house. 5g unlimited is working only if the icon 5G has black background (may be that is 5g+). It doesn't work if it has transparent background (which is regular 5g). This is on Samsung phone.
Phone doesn't stick to 5g+ signal even when the phone is at the same location unlike 5g.
PS: Hotspot also works on 5g+.

Please check t&c before doing anything on Airtel. They are using a lot of t&c for this unlimited 5g, like specific plans, can’t share hotspot etc.

I use jio and jio work fine 🤦
Don't believe chortel
This is from Airtel website:
What is the Airtel 5G Plus - Unlimited 5G Data Offer?Unlimited 5G Data offer is an introductory offer for Airtel customers to experience the power of 5G. Airtel customers on eligible plans who have 5G-enabled devices and have latched onto the Airtel 5G Plus network can now enjoy unlimited 5G Data.
The main issue here is Airtel's Fake 5G. As Airtel is using NSA it works on existing 4G core so most of the time it shows the 5G logo even though in the background it is just connected to 4G especially indoors so at that time your data be deducted from the daily limit but once you are connected to NSA 5G it will not. To check you can download Netmonster app where you can check whether it is actually connected to 5G or not. On the other hand, JIO uses standalone 5G so wherever you are connected to 5G it's real, and no chance of 4G showing as 5G.
this is the problem of airtel..king of malpractices
