Airtel Xstream Box Query

When Airtel states router is free with an XStream connection, what do they give? A router or Xstream Box? Or is Xstream box a separate purchasse item and is an entertainment box (and not router), serving TV channels and OTT content? I am a little out of touch with these things, hence checking.

Currently, I am considering a BSNL Fiber connection but with Airtel Xstream launch imminent in town (they might take few months to reach my area), I am thinking whether I should wait. BSNL are acting like beggars by seeking cable charges to draw cable from nearest pole to home.

While Jio Fiber is not here, how do things work there in terms of router and entertainment?

Airtel provides a free Router if you take Xtreme connection and Xtreme setup box is needed to be purchased separately. It's a smart set up box for running OTT apps and DTH channels. Xtreme setup box requires an active recharge from a DTH plan to run otherwise it's a useless box. OTT apps require a subscription with an active DTH plan. Hope my answer resolves your query.

Bundle Airtel Broadband plan with Airtel DTH as Airtel black (single bill).

You will save around Rs100 on DTH and 100 on Broadband per month.
