Are you guys comfortable to handover your id card to delivery agent to take photo , while accepting high value items ( gold etc) from delivery/ courier agent?
While accepting gold coin from flipkart, the delivery agent asked me my id card. I showed him id card but when he started to take photo of it with his mobile, I denied. I told him that he can note down id card number but can not take photo as it may be misused later. He refused delivery and went back.
When I asked flipkart about it, CS told me that its delivery partner company' s tnc. When I asked delivery partner, its CS told me that its as per flipkart tnc. Both were remain silent on "what if id card is misused"

Best to keep a photocopy ready fpr such situations. You can sign it by writing only for XYZ purpose. This will prevent misuse
He wanted to take photo of original only.

Delhivery guys note the 4 digits when needed . Not sure about BVS logistics. Heard 1st time. If both the parties are not ready to agree then writing mail to both at once and see what reply you get.

Recently it happened with me, but this time he was urging for Aadhaar Card Only. I said no Aadhaar and provided driving license, but he was still asking same. Any how he delivered using driving license. But same day from their office i get call they need Aadhaar. I don't know what they are trying to do with Aadhaar, may be they tied up with someone to provide Aadhaar Numbers of customers so that later on they can scam.
On call he also says Driving License is not a valid document. Who the hell are these people to declare DL as not a valid document.
everything is already leaked nowdays why worry , OTP is only our last hope
many of delivery companies like bluedart required jus 4 digits of id...
you can download masked aadhar for these kind of incidents...

If giving adhaar at any of the situations like this. There is a provision to get masked adhaar from Adhaar website. Do keep a copy of that with you and you can show it to them.

I understand from above discussion that, not all delivery agents are asking for such original documents for photograph.
Better option in such case is masked aadhaar.
