Hi guys, I wanted to know suppose if in Amazon and Flipkart some product is selling more than the MRP,what can we do apart from telling this to Amazon/Flipkart customer care, recently I had purchased one almonds packet from Amazon later found out that they charged me 5rs extra from the MRP price ,even though this amount is very less ,I just wanted to know any one else faced these kind of issue, I had contacted the Amazon customer service they took 20 minutes that it is their mistake and the agent informed me that she had raised a complaint regarding this , my doubt is whether they will really take action against this or simply leave this matter by only giving me the difference amount?

I have seen legal metrology department going on raids as per their jurisdiction. You may complaint against such sellers
Provisions read as:
Charging above MRP is an offence for which the trader can be prosecuted. Section 36 of Legal Metrology Act clearly states that whoever manufactures, packs, imports, sells, distributes, delivers or otherwise transfers, offers, exposes or possesses for sale, or causes to be sold, distributed, delivered or otherwise transferred, offered, exposed for sale any pre-packaged commodity that does not conform to the declarations on the package shall be punished with fine up to Rs 25,000 for the first offence. It can increase to Rs 50,000 for the second offence and subsequent offences can attract a fine of up to Rs 1 lakh or imprisonment for one year or both.
charging more than mrp is offense only if you buy only offline stores. If you buy online, you can be charged extra in the name of service charges. So, legally you can’t do anything if you are buying goods online which is getting delivered to your home.

Now the product is not available so maybe Amazon listened to me and took the matter to the seller regarding MRP , so I think the seller will again list this product after modifying the price

do not buy , better get stuffs from nearest store by checking mrp/reviews etc .
