If they don’t like working there, they should just quit the job. In free economy, manipulating labor is bad. Imagine if Amazon wanted to give 200 per package but the unions want 35 per package only. The prices must be decided by demand-supply in a free market.

We badly need a “Strict” minimum wage law. Otherwise these companies would leave no chance to suck blood of poor people. Reasonable(fair) wage must be given. If a trillion dollar company does this kind of chindichori then what can we expect from others? pensive

Its trillion dollar valuation based on business it does. In free market, you should not meddle with wages.

I don’t agree with your views especially when you are coining this into a demand-supply dynamics. Imagine there is a sudden surge in supply of delivery guys, so Amazon would ideally reduce the delivery per package considering there’s not enough demand but supply is high, which would basically mean slavery for these guys. Developed countries also have a min. wage rule, the rate per parcel should not fall below a certain rate so as to protect the delivery guys

‘Treating us like robots’: Amazon workers seek union

Amazon is fighting the union. The company argues the warehouse created thousands of jobs with an average pay of $15.30 per hour — more than twice the minimum wage in Alabama. Workers also get benefits including health care, vision and dental insurance without paying union dues, the company said.
