So currently, for Amazon all of the following accrue 5% cashpoints? Please confirm...

  1. aPay balance load (through 3rd party like uber)
  2. aPay gift card (direct from amazon site)
  3. aPay bill payments (any type of bill)
  4. Regular amazon shopping (any item)

Max total spends for 5% = 20,000/month and max 5% cashpoints = 1000/month (total for 5% partners)

For smartbuy, there is separate quota of 1000/month credited directly to statement and max amazon gv=10,000. Also 1% as cashpoints (this has a separate quota of 1000/month), so effective discount = approx 6%

Calculation:

Price of GV=100+Fees=101.47 (face value=100)

Cashback=5.07(smartbuy)+1.01(1%)=6.08

Net CB%=(6.08/101.47) * 100 = 5.9 %

but since the amazon voucher's face value is 100 , the effective discount comes to around 4.6%

Why "months"? Points get credited after month end every month so maximum 30 days.
But if you can't confirmedly calculate the total, HDFC promises to give the correct within 90 days sad

I didn't know that HDFC Millenia also gives 5% CB on Bill Payments from Amazon, for all those months I have been using Amazon Pay ICICI Credit Card for 2% and now will use HDFC Millenia for future purchases, including bill payments and gift card

@LightYagami Yes, I think it should be lesser considering face value of GV, please share your formula for a complete understanding...

@shraaj Better to use GV as bill pay 5% is a big loophole and high chance of getting closed... GV can be used for normal purchases too, so maybe they are allowing that, but should not be for regular bill payments.

Yes, I too came to know about bill pay loophole here only...

So we have total CashBack of 3k (1k Amazon + 1k Gyftr + 1k under 1%)?

Yes but txns will be exclusive to 5% & 1% category meaning no same txn will get you both 5% & 1%.

Right, 1k for 5% partners, 1k for 1% on other spends, 1k for Smartbuy, they do not club, but smartbuy (direct credit to statement) clubs with 1%.

isn't net profit 4.54%, you are actually spending 101.47 to get 106.08 back so profit would be (106.08-101.47)*100 / 101.47 = 4.54% @guest_999

Right, I was asking for this equation... was busy while posted earlier, hence calculated simple return CB based on spends at smartbuy... @IamRage @LightYagami

@agnivo007 Quick question: Do we get 5% on direct insurance payments through amazon on millenia cc....if yes, what's the limit of cb received and is that limit merged with other 5% cb category like flipkart?

Deal Subedar Deal Subedar

It's an open bug as we know till date, limit shared with 5% partners - counted as Amazon spend (1000/month). Bug may get closed for buying aPay GV/aPay bill payments any day... @Hanish_Ochani

So would you recommend doing it.. directly paying through cc or buying gc from hdfc gytr?

It won't change in the middle this month all of a sudden I guess... so one can also buy GV directly from AZ and pay through it to be a bit safe (if CC is allowed for GV on account)

Okay i'll consider this but my insurance premium amount is more than 20k in that scenario i had to go for gyftr for extra cb as i have to pay in this month itself, right?

Have you used up all 5% quota (20k spends)? Then adjust accordingly using remaining amount through gyftr or pay directly through apay. @Hanish_Ochani
