Only reason why Amazon outperform is Amazon Gvs are easily available as rewards everywhere, one can spend from card and get AMZ As rewards. So No. Point going to dmart waiting in line for discount.

Dmart definitely

But I compared Dmart online prices of few items like basmati rice and few more …found Amazon Pantry as cheaper…also one can get 15% extra discount on 2000…is it that Dmart online and offline prices are different?

Yes at times the prices are different, also you have more BOGO offers in the store. Also, HDFC and ICICI cards generally have a 5% cashback on Dmart payments (online and offline both)

With 5% affiliate cashback + 5% Amazon gv + 10-15% cashback/bank offers along with coupons, Amazon pantry is cheaper.

Of course you can always find a few couple of products on D-Mart which are cheaper but Amazon Pantry also has such products on discount from time to time…

Overall, I am happy with Amazon Pantry. Today I just ordered 2000 rs pantry order and got 700 rs cashback. So unless D-Mart can offer at least 40% discount on overall bill, I am sticking to Amazon pantry.

not sure of offline versus online
but region to region and in-store offers in physical stores are different.

unless drop dead hectic lifestyles force one to not venture out, for us and many others
going out to such places is leisurely at times.

that said, i won’t ever willingly go to a Bigbazaar, Dmart, Best Price (Walmart’s wholesale) or Metro (B2B) http://metro...in on a national holiday or weekend.
especially in evenings.

in whichever towns where D-mart is close by (under a kilometre), we always prefer D-mart (previously it was Reliance Fresh in metros, our favourite).

unlike Amazon Pantry, localised choices are better are Vishal Megamart and D-mart type places.
(their outlook is a clean, no nonsense, to the point. meaning: D-mart has no doggy/loyalty programs. just go in, buy and get out. all prices are discounted except say select brands like Jockey)

we rarely find as much variety or choices for brands like Haldiram (Nagpur) Snacks EVEN AT Walmart B2C or Metro Cash and Carry.. that we get at D-mart stores.

visiting such places in the first half of the day usually rids one off the rush at tills/billing counters.

as for price difference, will give one example.
but a little background.
for over two decades now, we prefer good quality ‘grade 1’ bathing bar soaps (with at-least 75% TFM)
.
sadly, now most soaps have reduced sizes to 125grams.
earlier we found Park Avenue (white one/ Good morning) value for money.
but the rebranding and weird perfume choices made us try Nivea and Dove too.
(Mysore Sandal soap and Pears being oval are not suited for some family members due to slippery nature. besides, even Mysore Sandal soap, despite its name: adds synthetic perfumes and even EDTA🤦‍♂)
since saponification releases glycerin like material.. adding EDTA to the ‘so called’ natural soaps is a bit dumb.

anyway, back to point:
Dove soaps in 125gm packs of 3 or more are stopped or unavailable.
Pears, Park Avenue are cheaper in D-mart and readily available.
and unlike Amazon Pantry, one can easily get undamaged and more recent stock by checking the labels.
being packaged items, we often let one or two persons from our society or group help each other out.
so free home delivery biggrin too.

Nivea soap, pack of 4 (some MRP 244) is available in some of the D-mart stores for Rs.122 (flat 50% off)
.
so,
when printed price on single soap box is 80+
this costing is Rs. 30.50 per soap.
similarly, Madhur Sugar (5kg) at 209 or thereabouts works out cheap at D-mart and Metro.
haven’t checked Kellogg’s wheatflakes since January 2020, but that too is on offer at times in certain towns.

Dhara ‘cold pressed’ (kachhi ghaani) Mustard oil (pet bottle) too is 109-113 I think at Metro and D-mart.

foodgrains i am not too sure as the quality, testing and purchasing is done by ladies from direct farmers or mandi wholesalers.
but run of the mill ITC and other national brands are neck and neck priced at D-mart too (Reliance Fresh used to be good too).
.
besides, going to a Metro or D-mart and if having fresh fruits/veggies section is worth it.
i just (on Monday) picked up decent sized pineapple, 25 rupees per kg Banane robusta, dragon fruits at 159-160 per kg and i think onions, potatoes were relatively cheap too.

even mundane stuff like cotton ear buds/Q-tips of Tulips, Johnson and Johnson or black, green garbage disposal bags, food wrapping aluminium foils, shrink wrap and Milton, Borosil thermoflasks .. i found cheaper at Metro and D-mart (Borosil products at Metro)

maybe you can order/buy 2-3 rounds each at D-mart and Pantry or Amazon Now and then as per your usual purchasing/ frequently bought items.. figure out if D-mart works better for you or Amazon’s convenience and offers clubbing suits better.
like people mentioned, maybe the ongoing Amazon promotions, unlock offers and discounted GV make it worthwhile if the delivered items are of recent stock and undamaged.
occasionally Amazon Now was used by a family member in a Tier 1 city, and they were satisfied.
(i know of it, because i needed ’spray on starch, the thing one can use even while ironing clothes and the acquaintance stayed close to a Hypercity store but got it for me via AmazonNow).

More or less. I have 10 dormant accounts which I don’t use. I only use them if they have any good offer in them which happens like every 3-4 months.

That’s how I am floating my boat. I haven’t created new accounts in last 8-10 months.
