Amex 1500*4 - is it still worth by paying fees for adding money in Paytm

Paytm charging around 2.65% for adding money through credit card

As 1500*1 can be added without charges through uber

Is it worth to do remaining 1500*3 transactions by paying convenience fee

For 4500 we need to pay around 120 rs

We get 388 rs for 1500*4 transactions

Net margin is 268rs

For AmEx, 1RP = 35 paise
spending 1000×4 gives1000point = rs350, followed by 35p/point

Annual fee = 5k

Why own a headache card where you get 0 return after spending ~50k, plus “NO AMEX” from local merchants. Why waste time and effort on ZERO value things. That is why i cancelled my MRCC after 3+ years even when i never paid a single rupee as annual fees.

Even PayZapp is better than AmEx. I am not even talking about FK ICICI or AmazonPay ICICI or Axis Ace biggrin

ps: With Infinia, i paid 12k as annual fees, but availed 25k worth Amazon vouchers – used the card as normal.

I am also planning to surrender my amex mrcc after 12 years of use. They just keep getting bad to worse in terms of rewards.
We can redeem 24K gold at any time of the year? I am unable to find 24K rewards right now.

I am curious to know as to how did you manage to use mrcc for 12 years when it was launched in 2017 itself?

Normally it is 25p, but under MRCC Gold Collection Rewards, it is 33p to 39p if redeemed for Amazon voucher or Statement Credit. Further, excluding the bonus points, on every Rs. 100 spent, you get 2 points, which are nearly 0.66% to 0.78% of the spend value, based on the above calculations.

Free Amex MRCC. Just use to get the monthly bonus points and pay the card back . Why the hate?

Also love the occasional 10% off on FLIPKART/Amazon vouchers and several times in the past have good rewards for paying LIC bills.

Even 1.5k * 4 is very easy as already told via MobiKwik Amex (which is still giving 2% and is very handy where there’s no offers). earned bonus point is 7% valueback even if you have done direct actual spends.

Yes Infinia is awesome currently, but when Amex is giving for free every month for past 5 years.. I will always appreciate that.

+1

Another point to notice is, not all has/get Infinia. Amex (Charge + MRCC) has been very much rewarding for me.

Brother – How do we get Mobiquik Amex card? Also, Is it free?

Also, I used to load Paytm using Amex & Uber and then pay at local store. How do I dosuch things using Mobikwik Amex?

RBI has restricted issuing any new Mobikwik cards. So 1.5k * 4 is also very difficult to use now. Another reason why Amex is not that much worth it nowadays.

Both combined for 12k monthly transactions I get 240 base points + 2000 bonus points per 4/6 transactions+ 480 bonus points on reward multiplier for gold card + 120 bonus points on reward multiplier for mrcc. Total to 2840 points. Additional feature on mrcc 1000 additional points on monthly 20k spend. Past few months I was able to achieve this as well.. combining total of 4000 points monthly on 2 cards.

If we add the Amazon/Flipkart offers, spend based rewards.. I would say Amex is the best rewarding card for me in the last 11-12 years of credit card usage

Amex has complicated conditions to avail most of the offers like bill payments particularly, in those conditions lies ambiguity too which needs special clarification and confirmation from their executives.

In addition, their cashback time is ridiculous, even though they honour early.

However, their chat option is one of the best in the industry and in general they resolve issues in reasonable time.

Overall, if you are into reading more type guy and having lesser cards then Amex won’t disappoint you.
