Amex Membership Rewards CC | 8k amazon voucher on 50k spend?

Hi friends, Was approached by Amex representatives in my company campus regarding getting an Amex CC. They told 1st year membership fee will be waived off and on spending 50k INR I will get 8k worth amazon gift card.
Fee waiving off seems normal, but 8k on 50k didn’t sound legit. Anyone familiar with this ?

Yeah, 8K GV for 18k points is there. You will get it on 50k spends as well in a year and a bit more (1k bonus points on 4 swipes of 1k each month). This is better than the INR 7500 credit you get. Like the 11k travel voucher for 24k points vs 10k statement credit.
However what they neglected to tell you is that unless you achieve 1.5 lacs or more billing in a year, you will end up paying 4.5k+ as annual fees.
They specifically mentioned that no annual fee for first year and I can cancel before year 1 ends 
Also even if I do these swipes , I’ll get 12k (each month) max in a year. Rest will have to get 6k points to attain min 18k. Will be tough for me not used to this heavy shopping.

Amex credit card is a must have card in your pocket. They have lots of festival offers. I have got loads of amazon voucher, Tanishq voucher, Amex travel card using Amex credit card

Sorry for the off topic question.Currently using my brothers sbi simplyclick card.Our main spends are on amazon,flipkart,other online wallets and paytm loads to pay shopkeepers.Yearly spends average close to 1-1.5 lakhs.Should i tell my bro to opt for amex? His main problem is with the yearly fees.
sadly amex cards are not for most of tier 2 indian cities .
Yearly 50K is correct..but it’s not 18 k and its 12K and you can redeem worth 5k voucher for 12k bonus points .. it’s like monthly 4k spends. 4 times min 1000 RS transaction in a month will add you 1000 bonus points. So 12 months 12k bonus points
to get additional 1k points, I need to do 1k+ transaction on POS machine or online? Will it work for amex rewards card too. I was not aware of it.
8k amazon is not for 18k points now?
