The qualified won’t do the counselling for free and talking to an unqualified might is not a good idea (Especially the advice part)
What you need is a conversation with someone who can understand you, got enough patience to listen to you – Which is obviously hard to find from free counsellors
^^ AND yeah, Anonymous is good.. can share about anything without the fear or being judged (& even if someone dies, it doesn’t matter)

your own mind is against you when you are in depression everything seems an endless dark cave….. what helps is people around you because you may not feel like expressing but you have to. Paid help costs so much and not everyone can afford it . Don’t push away people. Don’t lose hope. Nights are the worst try to improve your schedule. Keep yourself Busy in any kind of work. Try to be around people as much as possible. Go in park see people , see stories, see emotions. if company is available stay away from phone as much as possible , overthinking is an outcome of this and social media increases that.

Bhai, if one wants counselling then I would strongly suggest to take 1-1 session with a seasoned professional. Anonymous thing wont work because depression is a disease. It’s not like to have a church confession. That’s movie stuff. In my line work reasons are not important effects are. Same applies here. One might think that one is depressed because one is dumped/failed in exam/lost dear ones/got betrayed. No. Tons of people get betrayed/dumped/failed in exams etc. Depression is a natural effect. But but, pathological depression doesn’t go away. It is a cyclical process. It will come to you after a while. It needs proper medication, lifestyle changes, etc. People often try to superimpose depression over anxiety and think that they both are synonymous. Don’t try desperately to be flawless. Accept your flaws and embrace them, it would make your heart and mind lighter. Everyone is struggling with something in their life, it’s not just you, stay strong.
Like others said nobody cares enough to think of the best for you here. Even if the intentions are good they don’t have the expertise too. Paying money for peace of mind is a great investment, don’t hesitate or be ashamed to take professional help.You don’t really understand what depression means clinically.
When someone talks about being depressed, people get judgmental and conclude that the other person is facing some problem with their life.
But this is not it, depression is a state of mind, where it enters into with no particular reason.
Someone could be happy and fulfilled, but still be depressed.
That’s why people need to seek a professional to handle it in such situations and not a friend who can empathize.
Start fasting & meditating and change your to only vegetables for somedays, I am 100% sure you will see changes.

Get a simple consultation done to specialist, he will prescribe some medication such as brain relaxants , some sleep enhancers , some vitamins like b12 , etc.
After that tty to keep occupied yourself with work , leisure , most importantly try to be social, meet friends relatives , try to be jovial and happy , avoid overthinking which is not easy when depressed , try your hands in gardening or any hobbies , avoid negative confused arrogant people.

Join ISKON, participate actively in Bhajans for few weeks or months u may get lot of relief
remember everyone has issues, sometimes so many come together at a time that we reach snapping point, life goes on b’cos there is always a hope

Depression can advance to more serious conditions.
SAD and Agoraphobia are some examples, which aren’t easy to come out from.
Please seek professional advice with or without being anonymous, and try to work on root cause of your depressing depression.
Consult doctor and be on medication if that’s needed for you.
I take bupropion 150 mg extended release +fluoxetine 20 mg daily and it totally changed my life.

Like many of the people have mentioned, go for counseling with a counselor. Money is something that can be earned later but not the time. So, go for it even if it’s paid. I went for counseling and it had a positive impact on me. I took bupron xl, veniz xr. A morning/evening walk, a new hobby for eg. gardening are some activities which you can start as early as possible. These have a very good effect on the mind.
