I have asus laptop (i5 7th gen, 12 gig ram and 1 tb hdd).

Whenever i start laptop, it starts lagging nd hanging, its performance is very poor, after checking i found it is consuming disk usage 100%.
I google and did some troubleshooting myself, removed skype, chrome and even anti virus, kill some task permanently, and even flashed windows several times but nothing worked.
Current version win 10 pro.

Is there any pro dimer who can help me out.

Is my hdd faulty.

Ps – i realised this after my warrenty gets over as i rarely use my laptop.

images – https://ibb.co/T...5w

so far i have followed below things as suggested by google and wiki

Disable SuperFetch service.
Removed chromeand skype.
Update device drivers.
Perform a diskcheck.
Reset Virtual Memory.
Disable Antivirus Software.

May be your HDD read/write life is near to end. Check your hdd health status from Crystal mark software. It’s free.

i have gone though the thread u shared.
only 1 ques, does disk usage goes down after upgrading to ssd?
performance wise i do understand ssd is faster , the write read operations are bangon…

m curios, is this my hdd fault or windows (about disk usage)… there is no comparison of performance b/w hdd and ssd.

Make sure that your Windows update service is stopped. This service makes Windows 10 very slow. Check if you see any improvement in disk usage

Disk usage basically means ratio of read write speed of operating system/software & disk speed so more the disk speed less will be the ratio for same read write speed of operating system/software meaning less disk usage.

Do not use iso copy of windows which you already stored in your hdd. Download and Install fresh latest copy of windows offline i.e, do not connect to internet when prompted and don’t install any drivers manually. Check usage. If no improvement, then copy all your important data to external HDD and format internal HDD and repeat above process. If disk usage is still high, time to replace your hdd. If disk worked well with bare minimum os, now pause auto updates of windows and start installing drivers manually one by one with reboot after every install until you found the culprit. If all drivers are fine then start with your programs one by one.
As @kukdookoo mentioned, I once faced similar and much worse issues with nvidia drivers and had to downgrade driver versions untill I found stable one.

Do you have enough space in C:\ drive or the drive where the OS is installed? Not an expert but someone who had similar issue. When there was no space in D and F drives, I started to save movies in C:\ and hence my pc started to slow down a lot. I deleted some files and had some space which improved the performance a little.
But I eventually bought an SSD as suggested in this thread: https://www.desidime.com/discussions/hp-i3-lapt...

If you are talking about laptop keyboards/motherboards failing within 2-3 years then it is universal phenomenon courtesy of significantly increased influence of Chinese manufacturing cost cutting since 2013-14. My friends still have laptops from asus & dell bought in 2010/11 & still working fine with expected issues like some usb ports not working etc & same is the case with TVs with LG/samsung TVs bought in 201/11 lasting for more than 6-7 years while nowadays I have seen even 1 lakh+ costing LG/samsung TVs fail within 2-3 years.

No, I talked about something else. You’re talking about another.

.Install Malwarebytes antimalware 15 day trial. Update it. And scan. Clear viruses if you find any.

Still it isnt working, set virtual memory to double the size of ram, not auto mode. If 4gb ram, virtual memory should be atleast 8gb.

To put it simply , wd blue has dram and will have faster response times and will wear out slower than wd green.
