bhai ,

Wanted to check if anchor roma modular 3 pin sockets will fit inside gold medal brand modular base plates.

The gold medal modular switches and sockets seems to have stopped production, so I think i now have to change the whole modular plate to another brand to change just one 3 pin socket.

Generally they are purposefully made non compatible. Post a picture and dimensions of the GM plate. I happened to replace one of my ROMA 3 pin socket today. I can tell you the dimensions of the socket.

Appreciate the follow up, I will update you with the photo soon.

Also do you know if GM and GoldMedal are the same brand, on the modular faceplate it is printed GoldMedal in full ?

At times, even if the dimensions matches, the latches behind can be differently placed, likewise the slots for those latches.

I’m not sure what kind of damage you are having, if it’s the mechanical housing or the contacts inside. You can consider swapping the damaged part of the socket with a near equivalent one.

@teriab33

There was some maintenance work going on, the maintenance guys plugged a 16a machinery into the 10a socket, the modular socket got melted, so I need to replace that one.

Most of these machinery that requires 16a socket comes with a moulded 16a 3 pin top from the factory, so you cannot plug it into a 10a one. but the machine hiring shops cut that and patch it with a lengthy house wiring cable, the workers then plug these open ended wires to whichever socket they see first.

Can feel the agony bro. I hope the internal wiring is all intact.

Like it was earlier suggested, suggest to post pics with dimensions. You can also take the same to a local shop near by and find any compatible ones

I am planning to start my own DIY electrical on that switch board once the maintenance guys finish their work. I will post the socket latches photo in a couple of days, or take it to the local electrical shop and see if they sell a replacement.
