Has anyone closed his citi bank account after it becomes/merged with axis bank?

-If yes, what is the process, can it be done online or one has to visit the branch?

-Also, what happens to balance, shall a person makes his account zero before proceeding for closure or shall he close it and bank will ask the details of another bank where the residues will be transferred.
Considering:
:Citi has penalty for having balance below 1/1.5lac.

- what your suggestion is, shall i close my citi account or continue with it?

Ans 1,2,3. You need to goto branch to close. Do not empty out your account before closing any account. You will be at receiver's end against any T&C that you might be unluckily unaware of. All banks provide you the option of cheque/DD/online transfer after closing.

Ans 4. Did your converted Axis account have the same MAB, if so exit ASAP.

When I closed the axis account they issued a DD after deducting charges if applicable. So I suggest dont make ur acct balance 0.

I emptied my account. Called customer care, they took closure request over call after some detail verification. Account closed the next day.

I don't have axis ACC.

I know banks do offer transfer via cheque/dd , but m specifically asking for Citi.

As on citi, tnc have messed up, somewhere they say withdraw all the balance before closing and somewhere they are saying that you have maintain a minimum account balance of 1.5 lakhs and she will be charged or imposed the penalty
