Hi everyone, I wanted to apply for a HDFC add-on card for a member of my family who doesn't have a HDFC account.

Can anyone who has applied recently share the procedure?

I found this 2 year old desidime post which suggests that it can only be done offline. Has the procedure changed recently?

To apply for an add on card for a non-HDFC banking customer, you'll need to download a form, fill it out and submit it with relevant documents to a HDFC Branch/Dropbox. That's the only official way, I'm afraid. If you've a strong banking relationship with the branch, you can get the documents picked up

Reason for Addon card???

HDFC add on cards have same 16 digit of the primary card.

What's the problem with that? I understand OTP will come to my phone but this will mainly be used by my family member for offline transaction

It's always better if the addon holder has a custid with the bank... seamless, else you'd have to go with the full documentation procedure...

I found this form online

Do you know what page 3,4 is? I don't have to fill it right?

I don't think that's the correct form, for example,  it asks for customer ID, HDFC bank account no. etc. in add-on cardholder information. It's best you speak with customer care. They'll tell you exactly which document to download from where. It's likely you may get the correct form only at the branch. HDFC isn't the greatest when it comes to convenience.

Edit: This is the correct form - http://www.hdfcbank.com/assets/pdf/add_on_card_...

At the top of the pdf you can see the version, the link you have listed is older one v1.10. This older version doesn't even have Millennia credit card in the checkbox

Yes, I know, but that's the one which is directly linked in the NetBanking page when I go to add on cards. It at least makes a reference to non HDFC. Also,  at the branch,  you'll just be told to write your specific card,  if it isn't listed there. Another time, they'd told me that not all forms on their servers are operational (this was for a different issue). So I gave the link which was directly showing up in NetBanking and which I was told by CC to fill out.

You can, of course, fill out the newer one, the one which you'd refereced. You don't have to fill out the last pages, they're not applicable.

A word of caution, HDFC branches can be notoriously unpredictable when it comes to accepting filled out forms downloaded from their servers. So maybe print and fill both, and affix the particulars to the one they're ready to accept when you're there. Don't count on the branch having the correct form and/or working printers either.
