Looking for new Hathway broadband connection but the sales guy says I have to pay 6 months advance rental upfront. Have heard mostly negative reviews for hathway but was going for it considering less monthly rental v/s 1000gb @ 100mbps.
Only other option are Jio, Airtel & Bsnl.
Anyone else facing such issue?

It depends on your local internet operator, not on ISP you are using. If you get a connection directly from ISP you may have good options. But Local guys tend to be protective, ask for advance 3-6 month payments and fool you with installation charges and providing routers at high prices. Try to avoid such mediators.

Yes i recently got netplus broad band 6months for Rs3535. Speed is 50mbps. And no data limit. Will get my bsnl security deposit back and will sell old modem for Rs500. So its good deal.

I too am wanting hathway broadband wifi.
The guy said nothing about six month advance.
He just said that i will have to get the router myself and he will charge Rs 600 pm for connection and installation charges some Rs..1500 .
Which router to get no idea and from where all shops closed.

1500 Rs 🤬😳 in Bombay (or New Bombay)¿ where practically ever other locality tgey already have a line😡.
that’s sacrilegious.

back then, Hathway was sturdy and reluable there, maybe still is.
it surely has good presence in Surat and all.

plan details and pricing are better sought from company directly or other savvy users.

salespeesons only need be pressured for offers/ waivers when tgey are nearing tgeir mobthly/ quarterly “targets pressure”.

but unless too heavy use and if they are even slightly competitive, i’d still prefer MTNL☻

all said and done, at-least in our licaliry, tge aunties and uncles at the QSQC/ exchange were always approachable and frankly stated things while trying to help.

once i aaked even the linemen, that what’s the issue.. the wiring is hardly a kilometre from your office to me.. and he explained
..that no, railways do not allow us to go directly pass through and we too use the (east side to west side) bridge and thus the wiring distance was 2-3kms

even then, (prices used to be 2-3000 for FTTH) they said that if 8-10 people take a direct “fibre” connection in your complex; we can lay out fibre line.

if you are not in a large house or concrete columns or other buildings/ radio interference isn’t much then even a dual antennae router is enough else go with three antennae…
D-links or some TP-Link.
take advice from others here.
frankly even basic ones supplied by MTNL worked for our small apartment.

They are giving installation free and a WiFi router that’s it, no chromecast etc. Router will be returned when disconnecting connection later on.

In Delhi-NCR for new Airtel fiber connection, if you pay 6 month advance rental then they will not charge installation charges.
But if you go for monthly rental, they will charge 1000+ installation charge.

I took Airtel Broadband connection 2 weeks back. They required 3 month advance rental with free router and free installation. However, landline handset is to be purchased separately, from any source. Airtel directly sent payment link for online payment. No cash transaction.
