Are companies tracking me via Emails?

I came across this topic https://www.hubspot.com/sales/email-tracking...de and I am worried now. 
I observed that nowadays Emails are having images rather than texts. 
I have blocked the images getting loaded in my Email app 
but I am missing the promotions etc..

Gmail, Yahoo etc. are storing your emails in NSA’s server. Don’t trust their definition of “scan”
Until and unless you are in KGB or Mossad, no need to worry. They probably have even personal mails, messages of the people in the goberment also.
