Same boat bro..but not so confused these days. Due to pandemic/WFH, only tracks/shorts run the show. So not much of cloth purchase. My ward robe will usually be a on diet. If I notice some or other damage cropping up on fabric, I replace it with similar size/pattern/style. So I don’t need to brainstorm much. The only problem comes when I don’t get the same size or the manf decides to shuffle his size guide. In any case if I do not want to compromise on the item, and do not get the required size, I buy a bigger size and get it altered to suit me.

…if you are confused about clothes….take the help of fairer sex…they tend to judge better then guys…we are always ready to jack up a friend to wear a lungi…

What I have experienced is, there is no standardized size measurements across the clothing brands sold here.

Even within the same brand the sizes are different across models.

My advice – You can buy comfort clothes online (where you don’t mind buying one size larger than your usual size just as a precaution)
For stylist/occassion specific clothes – Always prefer offline stores.
