It's a privilege to watch Messi play in this era. The Greatest of All Time. The Greatest ever to have graced this game.
What a match!! Mbappe is phenomenal. Brilliant player.
It took Messi 16 years, 5 WC and a penalty shootout to finally hold the FIFA Cup is his hands. Messi is definitely the greatest of his generation. But not the greatest of all times. That still remains Pele, winner of 58 and 70 world cups (he was ruled out due to injury after the second game of 62).
Mbappe may in future surpass Pele. But its a long time to go.
France started the tournament with handicap of 5 of their main players, Benzema, Kante, Pogba, Nkunu, Hernandez ruled out due to injury. Karim Benzema is the 2022 Ballon d'Or winner and was the most important player of the French team. Many thought they would not pass the group stage. Still they took Messi's Argentina to the penalties in the most exciting WC Finals ever. In the end, the young players succumbed to nerves during penalty shootout. But it was one young man whose heroics took the injury-ridden French team to the finals. The youngest person ever to score more than 10 WC goals. The first person to score a hattrick in WC finals since 1966. The first man to score 8 goals in a single WC since Ronaldo in 2002. Winner of FIFA young player award in 2018 and FIFA Golden boot in 2022.
The FIFA WC is finally in the hands of Messi. But the real hero of this 2022 FIFA WC is Kylian Mbappe.

What I fail to understand is...What has Deepika Padukone done for this country or for the world at large to be able to stand next to Iker Casillas and present the World Cup trophy? As a matter of fact, she wanted to interview the Director of The World Health Organization on mental health issues back in 2020 but was denied. What are her achievements? She's not an athlete or a sportsperson. The only one I can think of is that she joined Karan Johar's gang. That's it. Full naukibaazs in this country.
