Asking id proof for return the product

I had purchased tshirt from Flipkart, and now I want to return it due to small size of tshirt,
After making return request I got email from Flipkart regarding id proof. Is id proof is compulsory for return ? Email is as below,

- Place the ID on a dark surface
- Use sufficient, natural lighting instead of a flash. It’s best if the photo is taken during the daytime- Take photo as directly above the ID as possible. Please ensure that your shadow does not cover your ID
- All four edges of your ID should be visible within the image
- All details on ID should be clear & legible
- Sort By
who reads the fine print , they must have changed it

But don’t the pickup guys check the returning product. Infact they even check the barcodes and other details before accepting returns. I think that should be enough for any genuine customer.
India will not develop if thief customer or seller exist in offline or online
Do you think USA is developed country? In USA you will find many crook customer. There are many dedicated thief online portal active specifically for USA. so your analogy is completely wrong. You will find crook customer and seller everywhere. But majority should act in honest way.
yes they also asked me Adhar card when i asked them to change mobile number ,
DOnt knw why they wanted adhar card just to update my account with a new number … 
I have ordered a rectangular framed smart watch in flipkart.They given wrong item. Also the charger is not provided. I requested to return the product. They informed to upload aadhar. I have uploaded the front side of aadhar card and billing details. It is informed that to upload id proof, then only return will be possible. Is it fake? Is return possible without id?
No, they can’t. Read terms and conditions of Return on product page and send them a screenshot.
These are cheap tactics Indian companies employ to get personal IDs and data of customers so that it can be misused later.
That’s why it is better to stay away from companies such as Flipkart to save a few rupees.
