I want to make a server for my factory requirements…..
My software runs on MS SQL express edition (free edition) so max I can use four core CPU (free edition permits only usage of core cores)
I need motherboard that supports MVME m2……
Dell t30 is the most suitable one but doesn’t have m2 slot…..
Only reason to so for assembled one is that m2 slot is available only in high end servers…..
Please suggest me which components to use……

question is, how much data are you expecting ?are you planning to configure raid ?
The SQL database size would be less than 10gb….. I am going to run a custom ERP program……
Why to use latest server configuration…
Cheapest way to get best is to search for ppl who sell old servers ( usually they run better and you get warranty by seller) Only drawback is that is you can get them in major cities.. If you live near by Delhi should be easy to find..
They are better than current high end desktop and also process stuff faster due to their configuration, reliable too
But if you have $$ then just go and but any rack server from Dell/ IBM..
Now even cloud solution are great to the price.. So can look at that option to all depends on need and usuage..
With them no headache of maintainence or future outdate is excluded..
I don’t wanna buy used server cause I don’t want maintenance issues and downtimes….
Also cloud is not an option for me cause the location of my factory doesn’t have high speed internet…. A 8 mpbs connection is for 80000 plus gst…..
Just for my information, who much would a good cloud server cost me ?
Just use a spare desktop in your office.
If it was a critical application you wouldn’t be using an express edition.
