One of my friends and neighbours is unemployed. He is only studied till class 12. After that due to personal and financial reasons. He needed to drop out. However he is extremely smart and he has very strong maths and science foundation. He works as a private teacher in his home and earns money as fees.

Can he attempt iitjee and secure a good rank at this age. So that he can boost his popularity as a teacher and more students can then enroll especially jee aspirants.

Will jee allow him to sit for examination and also will it give him a rank given he passed 12th in 2010 or so Which he can then use for advertising his teaching.

I don't think jee will allow this but...

He should start youtube channel...

(Solve question paper live, put solutions after jee exam, teachings topic wise, Telegram notes etc. To get recognised)

Thats tru but an iitjee rank will provide a very good boost. Also i think if he can appear 12th again just to fulfill the eligibility criteria and  then he can appear for jee and get a rank too

He passed 12 long back in 2009 i think

Age CriteriaFor appearing in the JEE (Main) – 2023, there is no age limit for the candidates. The candidates who have passed the class 12/equivalent examination in 2021, 2022, or appearing in 2023 irrespective of their age can appear in JEE (Main) – 2023 examination.

In his place there are other teachers also boasting their graduation degree and ranks. So getting a rank can make him more competitive

  • Candidates who passed the Class 12/equivalent examination in 2020 or before as well as those who will appear in such examination in 2024 or later are not eligible to appear in JEE (Main) – 2023.

If he wants to appear only to boost his morale, he can appear by filling non accurate details.

He is any way paying the fee and would get a rank and wont be taking a seat.
