There is nothing to do expect request them which you already did.

If they denied it then just take a hit and move on.

If you want to try your luck call them up and ask them to close the credit card and when they ask for a reason tell them this, may be they will reverse it if you are lucky.

Its totally up to them.

You have accepted this TnC and you are legally bound to pay it. You can request to negotiate at a higher level but don't expect much relief. This is the only way to their income.

You may ask for the justification of such High amount

Sadly the 5% cashback you tried earning with the ACE is lost, think like you never earned the cashback and move on..

Similar thing happened to me with icici. Had a credit card, which was rarely used, but one give month had a bill of 1,16,000 something, paid 1,11,000 but missed the 5k payment. They charged interest on the entire amount. Called customer care, RM, nothing helped. Then wrote an email to senior management, accepting the mistake and requesting one time waiver, and they agreed.

The interest is always on the entire bill amount, not on the remaining unpaid amount.

Based on your relationship with the bank, payment history etc, they may agree to reverse the charges as a courtesy, but they are under no obligation to do so.

Citi was so good in this respect. Once I missed payment, think it was 10 years ago. They offered to refund straight away. You don't get service like that from any domestic bank.

Not just that, Axis doesn't even count cashback towards repayment.
