Bad experience with Amez

Today i have very strange experience with amex, thinking you to share with you for your future use.

I had a Taj Vouchers offer : Spent 125000 during 5th Oct to 14 Nov and get 10k Taj Voucher.

During the offer period i had spent sufficient amount and expecting Taj Voucher.

But during this period i got cashback of some transaction done before 5th October and due this they are saying that you are under spending the tgt and not eligible for voucher.

I have talked with senior person also appx 56 min. But they are saying that any refund or cashback will be deducted irrespective of transaction for which it is received.

Yes this is a flaw. They should not consider cashback from previous month spend
But I guess it’s complex to add so many checks

So they are just checking any cashback received within period

in my case cashback was not adjusted for spend based offer, ling back.

try over chat again, most of the times different executives would have different opinions

I don’t think you can do much as this is how it always is, they should fix it but they dont.

I am aware of this as this is mentioned in few of my offer emails..

Spends (Net of cashback and reversals) on the enrolled Card from the date of enrollment or 1 March 2022 (whichever is later) to 15 April 2022 will be eligible under the Offer. For example, If spend done on the enrolled Card from the date of enrollment till offer end date is ₹40,000 and a refund of ₹5,000 is received within the same period, then the net eligible spend will be considered as ₹35,000.

many people have faced this but as per their terms any cashback is reduced so u cant help it

also, their sever timings are US based..

Once i did 1500/- transactions on 1st of month between 12-1am and they are marked in previous month.

After followup with cc i came to know they are following US servers time

I think that is issue is pending and due to this RBI has banned to issue new cards till they set up their servers in India.

Now nothing can be done. Even I lost 5k cashback last year. And I am posting about this on every spend based offer to alert dimers.

How they can reduce of Cashbcak of 3 months back transaction?

It should be net transaction during the offer period. If i spent during offer period and cancel transaction during or even after offer period. They should reverse it. They should not reverse cashback for 3 months before transaction

After a big fight till 4th level of escalation team, Today they agree with my issue and giving me 7000 amazon voucher instead of 10k taj voucher.

I too faced this issue, I lost MRCC bonus points because of this.

1st customer care, 2nd Manager, 3rd escalation team member, 4th escalation team manager.

Talked almost 30 to 40 min with each and explain issue with different examples.

Though i don’t fight, but this issue is of common sense and the opposite party is Amex whom i am thinking that only Amex team can understand. If it was Axis i won’t fight.

Your last statement shows your expertise. It’s better to remain mum than fighting with moron Axis. Yes, that’s why SBI and not Axis should have taken over citi.

Yes, CITI have very good customer care and Axis is exact opposite
