Summer’s setting in…and that means mango season! But then, how do you make the most of it when you’re stuck inside during the lockdown and unable to step out as often as you’d otherwise have. No worries, guys. The good folks at Karnataka State Mango Development and Marketing Corporation (KSMDMC) have roped in the postal department to deliver mangoes from April 17. Available for ordering online, the platform has at least a dozen farmers tied up with them for supplying mangoes.
The mango varieties on offer include Badami, Sindhura and Raspuri, all available in three kg boxes. However, in order to make the process feasible for farmers, each apartment or layout will have to order 250 kg, which will be delivered at the entrance gate, in accordance with social distancing rules. Although the yield will be much less this year, we’re glad the authorities are trying to make sure the harvest does not go to waste with initiatives like this.

Why corona mango? Have you stopped eating fresh vegetables and fruits? If not what harm is in this to order and take same precaution. It is also beneficial for mango farmers as it is providing them direct market to consumers and their produce also will not go waste because of this crisis.
