Applied through agent with SBI in march and the agent repeatedly told I would get a card but now he says nothing in his hand.Â

I applied for bob card on 15 march…… I applied for easy variant….as I saw a wave of people applying for it… And getting approved…
Was having no salary slip…. No itr…. I applied using my one card statement… Limit is 31400…
On 19th received a mail to upload itr and salary slip…. I again sent credit card statement… And since I am bob bank customer… Sent 4 month bank statement…. There was hardly 4000 rs transaction…. In 4 months….
Then there was no communication from them till 1 april… When I received a mail for rejection…….
Suprisinggly… Yesterday on 7th april…. I received vkyc sms and mail…… I was surprised but I did it…. Instantly… Took one hour…
And today I checked the status… Its showing as approved…. Don’t know the variant or limit….
Ps. – – one thing I noticed in bob, hdfc and sbi credit card… They dont accept one card statement……. Mine is fd one but shows as unsecured in cibil…..
So this is my first unsecured card…. Sbi hanging in balance…. And hdfc rejected… even after home verification and sending documents to chennai….

yes that is true…..the 2nd and 3rd call will decide that if u will get card or not….if you opt for high variant card….then its easy to get…as the first year charges is usually given back in points or amazon pay cb….if you use in good amount for first year…you will surely get simply click or ola or bpcl pre approved…then close the higher variant….and use simplyclick or whatever you want….sbi has tendency to give multiple cards to existing users…
guest_999 wrote:Most likely name issue, in case of single name you will have to escalate the case to higher level for even processing because typical bank software does not consider single name as even a valid option.
Yes some banks takes time to process application having single name. When I opened HDFC saving account, it took 4~5 days to process the application. Bank send single name application for approval from higher authority. SBI card also don’t accept application without last name, we have to contact customer care to process the application manually.
Add last name in all your documents.
So called cs… And asked for variant and limit.
Got bob easy rupay variant with 34000 limit…. On 31400 cc statement…. No ipv, no verification call, no income documents
Is BoB credit card working fine today? My transactions are failing continuously on Amazon from last 6 hours.

Okay… I thought since I have given request to convert my BoB credit card from Visa to Rupay network some days back, so might have been facing this issue if BoB has converted my card to Rupay network as the old Visa card gets deactivated. But seems like it is a common server issue from BoB side.

Welcome to BoB

@batmanBABA – you must be lucky that BOB was courteous & gave you the card, even after knowing what you did with China and Rest of the World for 2+ years. Baba-re-baba!!!

Any update in your application status?
I applied on 12th May.
Sent credit card statement when they asked for it on 15th.
Got application rejected message on 20th.
Sent them another credit card statement this time.
Out of nowhere physical verification guy called in 29th.
Since then the application is under process. 🥴
Can someone please confirm if BoB sends agents to do home verification of person/address?
Just today one person came for verification and I felt uncomfortable, as I have never had this done for any of my previous 6 cards.. 2 of which are super/premium cards.
I was given no intimation by BoB that something like this would happen, so felt a little fishy.
Can someone please share their experience? Thanks.

Yes Bob does that. Not only bob but below have also done physical verification, with or without our knowledge.
Indusind did that to tier 1 city address
Citi did that to tier 1 address
Scb did that for tier 1 address
Axis did that to tier 2 address.
Onecard did that to tier 2 city address.Â
amex does it for office address atleast.
Sbi does it for office atleast.
Yes did it for office atleast during their launch days.
Idfc did that to tier 1 address.
But the way bob and onecard does the physical verification seems very intriguing, they capture photos , collect data which is way more and makes us feel that the other banks never done any physical verification.Â

Thank you @dev007 and @JaiKrish1031 for your response and insight. Definitely puts me at ease in this situation.
I haven't had any such verification done in the past from any of HDFC, ICICI, Citi, SBI, etc.
Axis agent did come to my place, but that was literally just to pick up documents. This BoB experience was new and weird.

Yes I believe this type of stringent verification started from 2021 I guess (atleast my case) it started with onecard and I posed the same question to the verification person that bhai not even AMEX has done such type of verification. They have this app which asks for all sorts of data, pictures. Probably some new entrant in this verification market has entered and trying to prove itself by capturing all sort of data with its competition .
No other banks have asked these details before, including capturing picture of applicant infront of home with door number and house visible in that pic.Â
