be careful of cleartrip booking

I had booked a hotel using cleartrip. On reaching there with family, I was left stranded as the hotel said property is sold to a new buyer. Cleartrip didn’t notify me if the property is sold. They couldn’t provide similar accommodation nearby. I had to book at premium prices nearby. They refunded me back to original source which is a gift card that will expire in a month. They didn’t refund to their wallet. I don’t have any travel plans currently. I think I will lose that money too.

Raise some complaint , because its not your fault right?:) you planned trip but cleartrip failed to offer you the venue promised, refund is not the only compensation we can consider, as it is nearing expiry they should atleast renew for more days at least

Had same experience few months ago

It was long weekend and we booked month ago

One day before check-in date got mail frm CT saying booking is not entertained by hotel

Very bad experience

Had to roam on street begging for accomodation, and CT gave refund as wallet  balance 10 days later

No travel plans post that, hence lost whole amount

They didn’t send mail to me. I came to know after visiting hotel with my wife and 2 year old. They didn’t even give refund in wallet balance. They refunded in original gift voucher that expire in a month. On talking to customer care, they said you should have escalated on the day of stay. I was outside stranded in the noon with my family, they couldn’t provide similar accommodation even after waiting for some time, they want me to escalate at that time. I was frustrated with their unhelpfulness when they said they can only refund. I just said do whatever you want and went to book hotel at a higher price as most of the hotel in the area were sold out.

I raised complaint. however they said nothing can be done. they have refunded the money to original source which in my case is a gift voucher that expire in a month.

Have stopped booking hotels online now.Far too many cancellation/not given room when we reach hotel/ask for more money.

just one suggestion..

after booking online, always call and confirm the hotel/hostel/homestay before actually going there, this will save you time and money both..

Had a bad experience just like you in delhi some years ago after that i always call and confirm my booking with the property before the checkin
