Using debit cards to pay credit card bills.
Which is the best debit card – SBI or HDFC (platinum) or IDFC or dbs or ICICI to pay bills and get maximum benefits.

Please correct if I m wrong,
as per the HDFC site, they have mentioned,
No cashback points for all other categories apart from the ones above.
Did you mean, credit card bills payment thru Amazon/cred fall under utilities merchant code(MCC) and eligible for 1% cashback

You get this card free with max savings acc which need 25k min balance. Millenia debit card will not be free even if you maintain 50k balance(confirmed personally) though you can likely get millenia credit card ltf but only if you have the income proof/existing hdfc customer for 1 yr+ with good history.

Also,
Saw in a topic that, SBI debit card also gives 0.25% cashback as reward points.
Not able to redeem reward points from SBI rewardz, it’s showing as green reward points.
Please tell how to redeem points as gift cards or mobile recharge.

I have max with millenia. Best thing was mobikwik cc payment use to give 2.5% cb not even 1%. But max limit was 400 instead of 750 in easyshop.
Revealing now that mobikwik is no more. Haha

1 Lakh min balance in savings acc, yes I know about it but the site doesn’t explicitly say you will get millenia debit card. Maybe it depends on branch.

How did you get it, when I opened max savings acc I specifically asked for millenia debit card & was refused. I was even willing to keep 50k there but still the acc opening person told me there is no provision for giving millenia debit card free.

You can apply via net banking

I know but are you saying if I have a max savings acc & I apply via netbanking for millenia debit card then system will show the annual fee as zero.

In debit card upgrade page, you can see free for classic customer…
Note- now page not working, they are not accepting new upgrade online.

Sorry for tagging so many experts.. but i needed your opinions.. Hope you guys can share
the insight on the same if any
Guys the option is still available for the Debit card upgrade on the HDFC netbanking
There is change in certain thing that how you have to apply for upgrade now
First you have to block the present card and then raise the request for the new card
This is what the HDFC bank guys told me today on my personal visit.
I am not sure if i will be charged any fees for the card upgrade for a Salary account
The Bank Manager was telling to the officer explaining me the process very casually that
Yeah there shouldn’t be any charges as Millenia is very low end Debit card
some nominal charges like 200-300 may be there as i am taking a different variant now
So before blocking my present card and applying for the new millenia card i need your views
whether i should stick to the HDFC Smartbuy easyshop card or I should switch to Millenia
or is there any other better Debit card available with HDFC.
Some calculation for the Smartbuy vs Millenia
Smartbuy Easyshop card 400 RP on spend of 40000 (to acheive the limit of 750 spend required is 75k)
Millenia 400 RP on spend of 8000 Only

Millenia gives 5% cashback only on shopping via payzapp and smartbuy upto Rs 400. Somebody who has used millenia debit card to pay cc bill can update if they have got 5% cashback.
nimod wrote:How do you get this 400RP for 8K spend ?
I couldn’t find it anywhere
Its actually not direct reward points on 8k spend..
its for credit card bill payment rewards..
so if we pay a credit card bill of 8k.. will will get 400 RP (5% of 8k) = 400 rupee cashback
there are two similar topics..
best debit card.. i.e. this one
and best debit card for credit card payments…
