planning to replace our old (10+ yrs) BPL automatic top load washing machine with a new one.

requirements:
1. 4 adults.daily or alternate day use, regular washing including bedsheets
2. prefer it to use less water compared to others,
3. shd not be very expensive (uber expensive detergents,. conditions on what to use how to use etc) to operate n maintain
4. longer guarantee / warranty for peace of mind
5. Priced as low as possible
6. would prefer clothes as dry as possible (higher rpm drying)

I don’t want to go for any AMC (like IFB) for peace of mind. I don’t want to blow up 30-40k either.

want it for a long duration n hence sturdy and reliable..

front load is tempting, but expensive.. tilting toward Marq front load at ~16-17k..

what do you guys suggest based on your experience??

1.) For 4 adults buy 7kg atleast.
2.) front load uses less water and less power.
3) I use top load washing powder in front load itself. Just make sure it is MATIC. Matic powder n liquid are cheap nowadays.
4)Don’t get amc in my opinion, Just make sure the floor is not inclined and machine doesn’t move while spinning(get this done while installation) at full load.
It’d work without any problem in most cases unless luck not on your side..

5.) I’ll say go with midea front load.Brought for relative last year. No complaint whatsoever. Marq is also not bad. Just thoroughly read reviews before buying sorted by latest rather helpful.
6.) Again drying/spinning is best in front load.

and best part is front load got heater inbuilt which is a must for indian dirt conditions.
Disc: I am using LG front load.

Yes I will also vote for Samsung top load my previous one lasted 8/9 yr. New entrants have no reliability and they are cheaper because they will last only 4 yr. Had whirlpool and Panasonic previously which lasted just 4 yr each.

Fully automatic Washing machines uses too much detergents and water.

Water is slowly becoming scarce and detergents nowadays have become duds , due to discount fever, they are heavily mixed with fillers .
Surf excel and  ariel quality has heavily deteriorated than what it used to be before.
So many different names and packaging just to confuse and fool customers.

Santosh, You cannot go wrong with a Front Loader. They are the most economical of the washers.

I’ve also purchased a Bosch Front loader 6.5Kg during the amazon prime day festival. I got this for a cool ₹19,300/- after exchanging my existing LG 9KG Top loader which was a water guzzler. This is the 4th Washing machine in my family and the 2nd Front loader. The earlier one being a 5.5Kg Siemens.

I was myself contemplating whether to pickup a Marq or a Bosch. But the quality of Bosch & its brand assurance tilted me towards it. BTW, this is the 3rd Bosch appliance in my family in addition to my dishwasher & a refrigerator. I would urge you to pick up a Front loader for its efficiency as water is indeed more valuable than money itself.

Please also pickup AMC & factor that as a cost of the appliance. I see that as an Insurance as the machine will be run everyday.

Use a liquid soap for all washes & measure it when ever you pour it in the machine. I add only 30ml liquid for 1 cycle. Finally do maintenance every month this keeps the machine healthy & also your clothes fresh.

Used decades ago no idea current quality, but tide , another tall claim advertising.

Hoping to try lesser known brands
Maybe likes of Fena , Ghadi , Patanjali.
Why pay ultra high prices for quality compromised company products.
Recently  bought surf quickwash its qualty also deteriorated.
Just  discount    on hyped   prices.

Why don’t you try the local options? I discovered that the price of a locally made dish washing liquid is ₹15 for 500ml vs ₹50~100 bucks for a branded one.

I use mr white from Amazon and sometimes mix some costly powder. Top load washing powder is just gimmick to sell powder at high cost. Front load I agree it requires a low foaming powder

Annual Maintenance Contract. Usually the installation guys who come will try to brain wash you about these AMC to protect against any high cost repairs in the future by saying just service visit charge is so much, this part is so much etc.

They use very less water than maid with running water. Unless you are bachelor who wash all clothes in one bucket.

You are absolutely right , Maids do use running water to cut short there time and are always in haste wasting even detergents snd dish liquids and soap bars

They take us for a ride this way stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye
However from the very first day if we comtrol them they go pretty well atlesst 75%.
. It depends how the people at home manage them by pointimg at things and not showing linency to the maid thinking she will run away.,if so you will have to bear her tantrums.

Bye,Op gussa ho jayega .machine ki jagah kya baat kar rahe he.

I hear many stories of water leaking even without any faults in lock mechanism. How long have you had your machine without water leaking?
I also hear one can’t wash bedsheets and blankets in front load, is that true?

I want to buy washing machine for my parents. So, wouldn’t top load be better as in front load they have to bend?

It’s actually opposite , I think.
Clothes when wet are really heavy . Also long clothes like sarees , towels , bed sheets etc tangle and it difficult to just pull one out at a time seperately , so you have to pull all the tangled ones out and since they are wet they will be really heavy .

Front load is better, you can bring a tub and just drag all clothes into it and then seperate .

This is my feeling after seeing both.
