Please suggest best free Anti-Virus for my Windows 10 laptop. I found few names online (AVG, Avast, Sophos, Kaspersky, Bitdefender, Avira). Currently it has built in ‘windows defender’ anti virus.
Also suggest what else to be installed for best protection to my laptop…like malware protection etc etc (read that anti virus is not sufficient, also need additional tools for protection)

Windows AntiVirus doesn’t Update the Virus Database daily!
They are not getting paid for that feature!
Quick Heal, Kaspersky, Bitdefender and McAfee and so many AntiVirus Companies have a Laboratory and Huge Database from several countries all over the world, that is their job and they do it!
Windows OS me to Video Player bhi Inbuilt hai but most of the people don’t use that right? They are developing OS They has to give this!
If you’re not using any dark/unwanted websites and not using multiple pendrives from friends means predefined windows defender is enough.
(Also make sure that don’t install any cracked softwares to avoid malware infection)

Only anti virus is needed or anything else like firewall, makware, etc protection also needed.
Techies can save without antivirus. Everyone at my home is not techie so full protection needed (for free). Same laptop also used for internet banking and online shopping/transaction.
Free: Avira and Malwarebytes
Paid: bitdefender internet security
I use kaspersky or ESET bcz both antivirus are not resource hungry & too much aggressive catching even false positive file. I had used bitdefender which is very aggressive but I uninstall after few days as my PC was slowing like hell.
All antivirus provides 1 month free trails. Test each antivirus & see yourself which anti virus is provides you the best experience in least possible price without comprising system performance. Don’t spend money on costly antivirus unless you do too many financial transactions & data is much important for you. Stay away from quickheal antivirus looter.
System specs? I didn’t find Bitdefender anymore resource hungry than Kaspersky. Considering the former was available for upto 1/5th the price of the latter went with it. Otherwise Kaspersky is my favorite. Bitdefender nags a little too much.
Stop visting study materials sites…you will be 50% safe..stop downloading pirated stuff …you will be 100% safe
before couple year, there found privacy issue with Avast home.
I am using Avast Premium now. I used Avast home for around 7 years. last year i bought Norto 365 but now back to Avast.
I prefer Kasper and Avast both .

Bitdefender internet security (1 device 1 yr – rs 180, 1 device 3 yr – rs 350)
Bitdefender total security (1 device 3 yr – rs 600)
Eset internet security (1 device 1 yr – rs 425)
I am confused and not clear between bitdefendr internet security and total security, what is better??

Thanks a lot, then I will buy BD IS. I have not followed price, this purchase was pending for some time and I assume this is best price being great India festival

Bitdefender Internet Security 3 years used to be frequently available for as low as Rs 199 in Amazon. Works well. Low resource overhead as long as an SSD is the OS drive.
