fully agreed with all points ,
also they have great online customer support team.
reported failed txn with them day before yesterday and got refund yesterday
all government banks are shit private hdfc and icici are good still want to chance with govt you can try BOB apart from SBI or OBC.
For psu bank, SBI for the reason below(can’t find additional 4 reasons, in fact I can’t find them for any psu bank)
1. best internet banking service among all psu banks & comparable/better than many pvt banks.
For pvt banks, go with ICICI
1. mobile banking app has probably the largest no. of options & services for any banking app in India.
2. heard better customer support compared to hdfc & axis.
3. good option for taking personal/business loans at good rates in future(hdfc personal loan rates varies depending on acc type & ironically the so called “premium tier” acc with 1 lakh+ mab actually have higher loan interest rate).
4. Probably the best reliability record for their online banking services compared to other banks.
5. They usually give good offers on accident & health insurance plans to existing customers at 10-20% discount over their normal rates & their accident & health insurance plans are good(myself availed this on the basis of having icici credit card though no bank acc with them).
ICICI cannot beat HDFC in customer support online or offline.
I am using HDFC for last 13yr and ICICI for 8yr. and used both account in multiple city. HDFC staff found very cooperative in any branch most of the time. and ICICI found uncooperative most of the time.
IDFC support is also good in private.
For public bank, choose bank which has branch near to you.
One of the con of icici banks is for transferring money you have to keep with you debit card each and every time for entering grid values even for smaller transactions which is a headache
It’s headache but the purpose is security only. It is not asking grid values everytime unless the merchant is new one.
For SBI-
1. Great Internet banking, easy to setup any service such as Sweep FD. ASBA facility available for IPO.
2. Good YONO mobile banking with cardless cash withdrawal
3. Integration with SBI card in YONO for basic credit card information
4. Integration with SBI Life, SBI AMC, SBI General insurance for premium / SIP payment right from single INB login.
5. Online NPS account facility
6. PPF account facility available
7. Payment of State / Central government taxes including income tax & stamp duty registration fees for property purchases
8. Form 15G/H facility online
9. SGB Investment online
10. Digi locker facility
And many other facilities in INB.
Never take sbi insurance policy for anything.
BOB
1) nice credit cards
2) 2 rupay platinum DC (one virtual free)
3) app itself has everything
4) more connectivity abroad
5) Only decent PSB apart from SBI
ICICI
1) customer centric
2) evergreen offers
3) Many things can be done without branch visit
4) makes a good salary account
5) makes a good trading demat combo
can i get rupay platinum in any of their b3 variants which i can open online ?
There is nothing like best. But in my experience
govt. banks experience mostly depends on service staff there. Majority over 45 age show and tell you all the rules they learnt until that time, provided they know you have some political or money background. Mostly serves the rural and their attitude matches to them. However the banks do good when they are in tier1 & tier2. Staff mostly are well mannered. The only problem is they may insist on physical visit and ask hell lot of documents for almost everything. We dont get the feeling of being settled. They have unions and job security.
on the other hand pvt. banks
They are well mannered and have target of other products. They keep mining your accounts and keep bothering if they find you suit their targets. The service they offer in this case is good. If you dont fit in their target requirements, you may see little dip in their service. Well mannered 90% of time. Dont need to visit branch and everthing over phone and online. Lack of job security is another reason, i feel we get good service.
I have dealt with sbi, iob, central bank, union bank, icici and hdfc.
Out of all i find sbi better in PSU.
Icici is good hdfc better.
Now a days all banks have contract employees for non banking related products and fds ( both private and public) they bother too much in sbi and icici the moment we enter in tier 1 cities.
Open kotak
1) it’s not axis
2)it’s not hdfc
3) it’s not sbi
4) it’s not rbl
5) it’s not bob
Hope this helps.
PS : just a joke post. Ignore it if you’re seriously looking for a good bank account.
Why kotak?
It has one of the most sluggish mobile application.
@abhishek012 is amazon rupay offer valid only for min/full kyc users or anyone can get the offer ?
Just complete your Amazon wallet mini kyc, enter any documents and use.
You can use same Amazon account with multiple RuPay Platinum debit cards.
icici is useful
1) app is user friendly
2) u can get rupay platinum for apay offer
3) can get platinum card ltf
4) upi downtime is almost nil
5) support from bank is good (atleast at my location )
well iam using salary acc zero bal and i opened it only for creditcard but now using this as my primary acc, fully satisfied with icici , this is even better than HDFC
