Hi all,

I waited long time to have JIo connection. But I cannot wait more.

I am in JP Nagar Bangalore and wanted to have airtel broadband connection for 1 year(till JIo comes to my location)

Which is the best plan so that I can have connection with less price?

Any other suggestion to skip installation changes? Any running offer to have connection in less price?

Did you try exploring ACT, Tatasky broadband? ACT waives off installation charges on taking 3 or 6 month packages, and they do waive off even on 1 month plans in some rare cases.
Tatasky being in early stages, they are offering free installation, and this is FTH.

I remember airtel does waive off on long duration packages, I’m not sure in the recent past.

PM me if you need any help with act referral, although I’m considering to move to Tatasky from ACT.

Thanks for the response.

I was checking for least priced plan to have unlimted broadband like 399 from JIo or 499 from airtel.

I dont think no one will provide unlimted plan other than Airtel or JIo.

Please correct me if i am wrong.

Thanks.

You are right. For the plans you are targeting, only airtel offers. In my experience, if your preference is to take low cost plans, then no provider will offer free installation even if you take long duration plans, because they don’t make much profits out of those plans. They usually consider installation wavier on bigger rentals.

There is another way you could try. Go for a bigger rental in the beginning if they provide wavier, and then downgrade the plan after a month or so to be on safe side. I’ve heard you can downgrade a week after installation too, and the billing for the week will be considered on pro-rata basis.

Based on all old thread from DD, it seems 3 month plan for 799 will be the best plan for airtel to skip instllation as we need to finally pay Rs 2829.

Please let me known if any one has better plans or providers.

Just fyi, “unlimited” in case of airtel/reliance jio means ~3.3TB/month.

Have been using airtel broadband and landline from last 5-6 years in Gurugram.
Got landline instrument free of cost

Never paid anything for wiring or for any cables or switches.
Around a year back got internal wiring done by airtel from one room to another for
the landline which was also done free of cost including all the wires and connectors etc

Converted to fibre around 2 months back with 499 plan and again all the new wirings and
connections were done without any charges.

Also got 2 RJ 45 cables and a new RJ 11 cable free of cost.

Thanks everyone for the feedback. Able to choose 499 plan for 6 month without any installation charges. Speed i am seeing around 51 mbps which is surprise(as per plan it needs be around 40 Mbps) for me and also better than 30 mbps of JIo. Not sure if this last for 1st month. I will update this thread if speed reduce by next month.

So far I am happy with airtel speed. Only concern is that I cannot play some of the star channels like we can play those in Jio network provides.

After 1 month if I downgrade to 499 the installation charges will be cut from my balance ?

No, even after 3 days you can downgrade. Better to choose 499 plan(for 6 month) as no headache of downgrading.
