Best thick kadhai for cooking?

My 20 year old Thick Kadhai has become black. Not even hard scrubbing removes this blackness.
Is this harmful? Should I change my kadhai?
If I should change, what are some of the best kadhais? Any advantage of non-stick kadhai? Want to avoid Cast-iron because very hard to clean.

Guys – Aluminum kadhai unsafe for health?
Stainless steel is comparatively better, iron is even better (from health POV)
use brick piece to rub, do it everyday once; in a week it will shine
for corners use screwdriver
