@Gourmet @Topsey Check the official website of High Commission of Malaysia, New Delhi at https://www.kln.gov.my/web/ind_new-delhi/requir...
It clearly states that as per the latest update:
The Malaysian government has announced the extension of visa waiver for Indian nationals travelling to Malaysia until 31 December 2026, for up to 30 days, for business and tourism activities. In addition to this, travellers are required to complete the Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC).
Hope that clarifies the confusion for all.
@Topsey Wish you a good and memorable trip in Malaysia bro. Few tips for you if you are visiting for first time. I went there during Diwali Vacation this year.
- Carry enough cash (at least 1000 MYR Malaysian Ringgits) as initial amount. Card acceptance is quite low there especially in local markets.
- Best place to buy snacks or any daily needs is from "99 Speedmart" store for the best value for money. Alternatively you can also shop from 7-eleven stores which are open 24 hours and accept international cards for payment.
- Use Grab for taxi and opt for payment using cash even if you have an international card with zero forex markup fees. You will save some cents each time since cash payment will show as cheaper rounded off price for the same trip compared to card payment. Also there will be no hassle faced for over charge by Grab later on when you come back and find a debit charge that does not match with what you actually paid. I was a victim of such fraud by Grab and unable to recover my money even after connecting with Grab customer care and the Indian bank. https://x.com/brotin/status/1858873170675...32
- If you have the option and can plan your itinerary, don't miss the Wednesday only night hawker market in Kuala Lumpur called "Pasar Malam Taman Connaught". Its a 2 km long stretch of food, souvenirs, clothing, jewelry hawkers in one place and the best place to try and enjoy local Malaysian food. Remember, only cash is accepted in this market.
- If you wish to try local transport (LRT, MRT, Monorail, etc.) then remember that you cannot use the credit/debit card directly at the turnstiles to pay for the ride, unlike in Singapore. The only way is to get a token by paying with cash on the ticket vending machines. Those machines only accept $2, $5, $10 bills only.
This year I've visited malaysia for 2 times. They just stamped my passport right way without asking me anything.
First time I've stayed for 2 nights, 2nd time for 25 days.
