And my travel date is 16 June.
I want to know tips and insights on how to keep cancellation costs to the minimum in case of VISA rejection.
I've read on Google that some airlines offer refund even on non refundable tickets if cancellation is due to visa rejection
But no concrete evidence or response. Hence want to check with all you fellow dimers.

Not sure. I normally don't need visas for most countries. Haven't applied for one in decades except once for Vietnam.
You should check the fare rules when purchasing. See if it is refundable and what are the cancelation charges. Sometimes airlines and travel sites have a sort of insurance plan where by paying a little extra, you are allowed to cancel. So look for that option as well.
Better get the tickets from the reputed local agent nearby you. It will be cheaper and all the terms can be negotiated.
You can get a dummy ticket (I think many sites issue it for a nominal fee) and it is totally okay to use it for visa applications.
1. For flight booking- book refundable flights (cost will be slightly higher)
2. For hotels - you can book on mmt, agoda, bookings etc. with no prepayment. This is considered as valid proof of stay
3. For insurance which is mandatory- you can check on godigit or opt for the lowest one
Further in case of visa rejection, you generally reciceve a email to correct the deficiency if any. ( for vfs - this is the procedure).
Also check the visa processing time for the country you are applying to (eg. spain visa takes 3 to 5 working days whereas Italy visa takes anywhere between 10 to 15 working days)
Visa Issued?
Yes ... After 3 weeks
