For break in renewals they will ask for video survey. If you can manage to pass that then you can raise claim after 1 month.

HI Guys my car insurance expired on 18 May and I got a dent on 21 May.
I was suppose to be renewing it on today ( Monday).
What options do I have ? anyway to avoid losses ?
what is the best way to deal in this case? Go to official Kia service centre or try to fix it in local shop.
Not sure if Kia will charge a bomb .
Also i have to get the new insurance , please suggest .

Btw, why did you let your insurance to get expired! You are supposed to renew it before it gets expired!

It was a mistake from my side
After 18th 12:00 AM, the insurance company is not liable for anything. Your next insurance will now be a fresh new insurance. You will loose your NCB.
Its better to get quotes from Kia and local shops and compare. If not much of a difference get it done at Kia.
You have Kia carnival?

During the grace period, the policy continues to be active; however, you are not covered against damages to the car or third-party liabilities. While you cannot raise claims, you continue to enjoy the benefits of NCB during the grace period.
If dent is not of a large magnitude, it is always better to get it done outside insurance, otherwise the amount you lose due the cancellation of no-claim bonus may be higher then your denting painting costs
aam_aadmi wrote:@ontherocks That means no new policy no. will be generated & ncb will continue to be there on renewal during grace period.

You have grace period if you renew from the same insurer. Do that asap.
