I am trying to get BH series registration for new bike in karnataka but non of the dealers are ready for that saying RTO is not approving applications. Despite Karnataka high court order it is deliberately not being implemented. Anyone who managed to get BH series registration. Any place to raise a complaint against such practise. Out of curiosity, what will you get by registering for a BH number plate in KA, apart from saving some road tax (if any) ? My limited experience in KA says that it's better to have vehicles of same state, rather than of other state. Traffic police checks are kind of nuisance if you happen to have other state number plate, many times they purposely target other state vehicles. Also in rare cases, like some years back when there was some kind of riot/protest b/w KA and TN, and lot of public TN vehicles were targeted and damaged/burnt.

that's the reason behind BH series, it is like PAN india, You can sell ur vehicle to anyone in any state, can roam to any state for any amount of time without being hassled by the local police, don't have to pay  full road taxes upfront. considering a life span of 15 yrs for a 4 wheeler, it is better to pay 10% tax every two year than paying 100 % taxes  upfront.
For private employees, the offices should be at least in 4 states.
I took BH series , only paid 21k for 2 yr compared to 1.5 lakh which I would have paid had I opted for state specific registration.

Why you want to go for the BH series? Very High Road Tax Rate!
Anyways you get 1 Year in another state to roam without RTO transfer requirement.

In Karnataka Road tax is 12% with BH series it is 10%. You will not have to pay 15 years tax upfront

I am too looking for the same. Will try my luck in a few days hopefully.

But it looks like it's impossible atleast in Bangalore. Showroom guys contacted someone in RTO and they right away denied the possibility of BH for pvt employees cry
