Bought smart tv on Amazon: Should I open the box/inspect in-front of the delivery agent or wait for the installation person?

Before you submit your confirmation code to the delivery agent, please inspect the item for damage. We cannot accept returns for damage or missing parts after the confirmation code is submitted

So should I
- Open the box & inspect all the parts including accessories in front of the delivery agent. OR
- Wait for the installation person?

Previously, I bought large appliances on Amazon, and always waited for the installation person to open the box.

Delivery person will open the box and let you inspect the item.

Such msg is meant for open box delivery orders.

It seems like Open Box delivery in Flipkart.

Mostly you should be able to check physically issues like scratches, broken issues, parts missing or completely wrong product..etc. Now-a-days, dummy products are coming in the boxes, may be that’s why they have moved to this procedure. If anything goes wrong instant refund would be initiated(check with cc about replacement). If everything is fine, then technician comes and check the product functionality and found the defective product, then it should be refunded (check this thing also with cc). As I don’t experience this case, I couldn’t confirm.

I may not be available at Home at the time of delivery. My mother is not able to identify the missing parts, fine damage.

Can I leave the box as it is without opening and let the installation person be responsible for checking damage/missing parts?

It’s a safe bet to record a video of unboxing for all items coming home not just high value items.

Hankpanky by sellers office not delivery guys is very common.

Like I did an unboxing video of a saree received. The colour was different. Immediately got refund.

Amazon clearly mentions that they will not be able to accept returns after delivery if something is wrong. So make use of open box delivery. Or you might regret later. Apply a leave and stay at home or tell somebody to take a good look at the product before giving code to the delivery agent.
