Browser using insane amount of processor

Hi guys as the title suggest I am facing this issue with my laptop.
So the browser is using very abnormal amount of processor speed. It remains calm & then shoots up-to 80-90% with even a little activity making everything freeze & jittery momentarily. There are not many tabs open(even with 2-3) & it's happening with both edge & chrome.
I recently upgraded my laptop with a new SSD & the windows is 10 which is freshly installed so literally nothing is installed in there.

Did you try efficiency mode? (Edge got it and all chromium based browsers should too) With this ON, unused tabs get into sleep mode (Helps with RAM usage too)
That's not insane that's normal those spikes r the reason why chrome is fastest browser, unless its using high cpu usage for long time/in idle moment it's normal
It is hitting the base freq., so thermal throttling might not be an issue here.
Select High/Ultra performance mode, then try repeating the things that led to that high usage.
Kill all the chrome.exe process completely before beginning the test.
@Ash-D Try a new profile.
If it works smooth with less cpu usage, you would know the culprit is too many addons/ history/ bookmarks etc..
Next use the old profile, disable all addons and see. Next try enabling just necessary ones. You will gradually know the culprit addon or the heavy ones.
Look if your laptop has dust...
If yes, get it cleaned and don't forget applying thermal paste 😄
No bro no dust whatsoever have cleaned it myself 2-3 days back when I installed ssd but yeah haven't changed thermal paste since I bought it.
But it should be affecting my processor thermals na so I can know that by it's temp. Any good 3rd party app to check my processor temp if it's getting cooled properly.
Windows is culprit, shitty windows.
Disable any update like windows update
1. Uninstall chrome, then start your laptop in safemode with networking analyze results.
2. Disable edge or uninstall install chrome or Firefox, in safe mode with networking analyze the results.
3. Reinstall windows with clean installation image , dvd is preferred. Must be some kind of virus.
Also 10 vs 11 which I should Install for better performance?
Yes , Sometimes It Will Take All Resources ,, Possible Reason Is Browser Updated So Many Times Since Installed So Every Time It Is Re-Reading All The Updates...
Sync Data And Reinstall Will Solve The Problem.
following... sometimes happens to my chrome also.
this might help. as soon as you open/boot the laptop, before opening any app, open Task Manager and if Chrome/edge is running in background>End Task. and later proceed with your normal taks. like opening browser/ gaming/ whatever it is. Also in the Autostart options Turnoff Windows Updater app (in Task Manager only).
Dunno about Edge but Chrome's Software Reporter Tool randomly spikes the CPU usage for upto 2-3 minutes at a time while it collects info on all the various apps installed in the system. Took noticeably longer in my older system but still no more than 5-6 minutes after which the CPU would idle.
Edit: How long does this issue last? You can try a reinstall without logging into your Google account which prevents the extensions from being reinstalled.
Finally uninstalled the chrome which helped a bit in edge working will re-install chrome & test again.
Have you considered switching to linux?
Chrome is a resource hungry browser. Switch to Firefox or Vivaldi browser.
