Hi all,
I have a BSNL landline which was first introduced at my home in year 1998, it's been 26 years and I still have this active number. But from the last 3 months it's completely dead. I have changed monthly subscription to ₹150 +Gst for incoming calls only, so the number stays active. In the past we have used the BSNL landline bill as address proof also.
But it's been dead for the last 3 months, I have raised so many complaints using the Bsnl app & Twitter handle. They just close the complaint ID with a resolved response. Today I went to the nearest BSNL office, I found only one employee in the office who was sleeping on the desk, he said, your number is old and it has copper cable which doesn't work now, so upgrade to Fiber Net with min. plan of ₹299 with 20 GB data, incoming, outgoing calls.
But I already have GTPL fiber net, I do not want to upgrade any plan, I was paying a bill of ₹150 monthly so this number stays active,
There are lots of childhood memories attached with this landline number, Now no one uses this landline, everyone has shifted to a cellphone. Should I close it now permanently?

noo DONT CLOSE there is a plan called
ASEEM Plan which convert your landline into mobile using call diversion (WITHOUT PHYSCAL LANDLINE)
Its the cheapest
get it
I HAVE THIS PLAN ACTIVE NOW:) ON MY OLD HOME LAND LINE:) WITHOUT LANDLINE ( i dont want to lose my fancy landline number hehehe )
ASEEM.pdf (plan is available in all indian states)
Ask BNSL office to upgrade you to ASEEM plan (i faced the same problem as you and finally they itself emailed me with this plan details and I happily upgraded to it)
