I would suggest u to do 136/137 plan which gives 100 talkvalue and perSec/perMin plans
the 100 Talkvalue will be available for activating 36/37 plan after 180 days. smile

Plan activation from Talkvalue is allowed in BSNL AFAIK.

I will be porting my mother’s Vodafone no. to BSNL next week. One thing though, are there rate cutters available on BSNL? Like on Voda I would do a tiny Rs.17/18 recharge and it would make all the phone calls at 30 paisa per minute and that would last for like 56 days or whatever, its not available any more, but it was when humanity was sane anyway, so things like that available on BSNL? Just keeping a SIM is meaningless, if you are not able to call from it. And without any rate cutter 100 rupee balance will be gone in less than an hour of phone call!

Better recharge with 319 for 3 months unlimited calls

Or recharge with 88 for .8p/sec(48paise per minute) with validity of 90 days..

Please check Ur circle bfr recharge

Thanks for the link but damn! 19 rupees per month for 35p calls, and 22 per month for 30p calls! That’s double compared to Vodafone’s tariff cutter rate!

I am now thinking whether to simply get my mom a stupid Jio phone! Jio phones need 49 per month recharge right?

Bruh if I were to spend that much for unlimited calling then I would simply buy her a smartphone and get a Jio SIM with that. She just needs to have a connection with a provision to call relatives whenever she wants, at a decent enough rate, and without any per month mandatory recharge shite.

Things have been so indecent, jeez, I don’t know what the old folks would do if they don’t have a son/daughter around, they will surely go to a mobile store for help and get looted with these new savage norms. We are at a really bad time friends, wake up.

If you are depending on call rates. Better choose 245 rupees on Vodafone. 1 paise for 2sec – 84days with 2gb Data.

No, why would you say that ?

Companies cannot do a charitable service, 49/month is very cheap i.e. 600 per year with cashbacks it would be reduced to around 400. One cannot expect a dumb phone sitting idle used infrequently and pay lesser than that, it is too much to expect.

Bottomline:
Infrequent Small Duration Calls: BSNL , Expense: 36*2 + Topup(as necessary)
Infrequent Large Duration Calls: Jio , Expense: 49*12 (Advantage: 1GB free internet to listen songs)

You can’t coerce something. One should pay as per their needs. Also there are way too many old folks in this country, who let alone using a smartphone, still can’t know how to send a text message! You’re putting a minimum monthly charge to those people FFS! That’s ridiculous. How do you think the big shot telcos have survived this long, without putting any mandatory recharge norm to consumers? Without having any profit? Lol.

Damned Jio changed all these, as much as I praise them for what they did, even I as a business owner failed to see their long-term plan!

As much as I agree, yetl I would hold my argument, 49/month is the charge for maintaining your connection and providing you with required services. If you do not take advantage of that, then it is your loss, I don’t subscribe to the idea of pay as much you use, it puts the onus on the customer to keep himself in check and most likely he would overshoot his limits, and have variable charges every month on the upper side. 1.5/day is cheap.

Sorry for bumping up this thread. But all the discussion was of a year ago. BSNL was subjected to many changes after that. What is the latest info.

What is the best BSNL recharge to just keep the number alive ?
