Buying a Secondhand Dzire VXI

Swift Dzire Petrol VXI
Registration Date : May 2016
Asking price : 420000
Km driven : 40 000+
Checked the vehicle with a mechanic , he said ,vehicle condition is good.
I have no knowledge to judge a vehicle condition and deciding its good buying price .
What you guys suggest , should I buy this for 420000 ? A 2016 model though .
Or better to go with new Dzire ?
Are older engines are inferior to new varients in Dzire ?

the car dealer may be keeping his profit very high. I asked him to make it 400000 but he is like “sir 4 lakh mein kharida hun”(bought the car in 4L). he might have purchased it in between 3-3.5L . never know 
Did you check the service/accident history? Ask them to install maruti app (some maruti service/repair app not sure about the exact name) and register the car number and you can see the entire history of the car service/accident (if done in authorized maruti service centers). You can even contact someone in maruti service center (not sure if they charge a legal fee or if u can pay something extra) and ask them to show your the car history.
Under 2.5 means good deal.

Decided to go for New Dzire VXI model .
Not much idea but i recomened u to buy tata altroz only.
Also share new car quotation so that we can çrosscheck u r not getting overcharged
I don’t need car right now but i must take it for learning & to practice 4W driving
Also can take out an hour or two for a couple of months until WFH is permitted.
Which model you all suggest
price is too high for 2016 model , its better u visit true value showroom
I personally think it is expensive.. they guy would’ve paid 6-7 Lakhs for the new car in 2016.. it’s 5 years old n hence shd be at 50% the value. My take is to buy it at 3.5-3.7 lakhs assuming everything is fine with it as mentioned.
Check prices on sites like cars24 or bluebook / orangebook etc.
