Buying Jewellery with New Amex Cards

I got to know from cc that jewellery transactions may get declined untill the card is atleast six months old. Does anyone has any experience or knowledge around this?

Actually, I have recently applied supplementary cards to use the ongoing small shop offer. I was double checking with cc that I’ll get the offer’s cashback on buying Jewellery from their local merchant. At that time, they told me that Jewellery shopping is not allowed till six months, for both primary and supplementary cards.
