Dell’s Vostro = business needs laptops
IBM Thinkpads were similar.
.
better to avoid too recent iMacs or too dated ones if importing.
(their third party service centres often hire noobs or are unaware to properly work on new releases)
and
anything older than 2-2.5 years since launch, Apple itself will make repairs almost impossible (they always prefer users to discard previous product and buy afresh)

If you want a gaming laptop:

Acer Helios 300
Close your eyes , buy it .
1200 usd normal price.
(Just checked amazon.com 1088 usd now)
You get
1) 9th gen H series Intel i7 processor(9750 H)
2) 16gb ram
3) GTX 1660 Ti graphics card
4) 256 GB SSD (slower than other SSD but better than hdd ofcourse)
5) you can expand by opening laptop, there is space for hdd too.
6) Really good thermal performance.

Most importantly
7) 1080p IPS 144 Hz display

Also it’s not like most common black-red aesthetics. It’s black-greenish-blue color lights.

buy no less than 120hz refresh rate screen

That’s a myth. Buy a PWM free display equipped laptop instead. High refresh rate screens are for gaming only

You have to hold it to believe it bro, its so Thin and lightweight that i have walked 5kms carrying it without feeling any strain.

Oh and another fault is screen is reflective especially if light is right behind/above you (Even this may be because I use laptop with brightness at 0 which is bright enough for me)

The screen is reflective, that’s why it’s happening. But color coverage is very decent on LG Grams

@sj260498685 @tony_stark bros, few tips. You need light weight and battery life. You ll be losing on processor power too, as you gonna find u series processors instead of h series ones. No need to worry about 120Hz display. High refresh rate monitors are needed for gaming purpose only. High quality content creation panels are always 60Hz ones. You need to buy a PWM free laptop for stress free usage of laptop for a long period of time. For battery life, see the capacity of the battery. 52Wh battery equipped with a u series processor can suffice your needs. If you are very protective about battery life stick to integrated graphics only. Dedicated graphics will drain your battery life only. Integrated graphics are powerful enough to do day to day multimedia tasks, you won’t complain. For gaming Mx250 is good. But battery back up won’t be that great. Ryzen processors come with Vega graphics and great battery backup. 🙂
Edit: Matte display is required if you work in a lit environment. Reflections are not going to distract you anymore. But you gonna need a bright panel, at least 400nit ones to work in sunlight comfortably. Glossy display on the other side gives very detailed colour reproduction. A display of same spec is supposedly available in matte n glossy format. Glossy ll be more accurate. Glossy ones are used for media creation, video editing, animation.
Lemme classify some laptop types
1. Content creation, virtual machine running purpose, video editting buy a workstation instead HP Zbook, Dell Precision, ThinkPad P series are some examples. You ll get H series processor, Quadro graphics, variety of display options. Nothing beats Macs when it comes to content creation.
2. Day to day office work, battery life, robust build quality, light weight. Nothing beats Macs here too. Windows options are Dell XPS, HP Spectre, ThinkPad Yoga, Asus Zenbook, LG Gram, MSI Prestige n Modern etc. These laptops ll be available at a premium price of course. Usually
3. Same requirements as number 2, but with a bit compromise with battery and weight but more robustness is required. Lenovo ThinkPads will be your savior. Best keyboards, upgradability, customised options and durability makes them really really legendary.
4. If you really need to cheap out and it’s ok. Then go with Dell Inspiron, Asus Vivobook, HP Pavilion etc.
Avoid MSI, Origin, System 76, etc. Service in India is bad to non existent for them. 🙂

First of all, check which company offers international warranty. Make a lost of those companies. Then list down 10-20 best laptops from those. Shortlist 4-5 laptops based on online reviews and feedback from people. Track their prices and see which one goes on deal during Black Friday.
