your brain is right
Interesting riddle.
Correct answer = Rs.2,000/-
Consider this way: Shopkeeper A gave fake note of Rs.2,000 to shopkeeper B and in return got Rs.2,000 real money from shopkeeper B. Later, shopkeeper B took back Rs.2,000 real money and gave back Rs.2,000 fake note to shopkeeper A.
So, no loss & no profit as value of fake note is Rs.0.
Then shopkeeper A gave Rs.1,650 real money & Rs.350 worth of goods at Rs.0 profit to a lady.
Loss incurred by shopkeeper A = Rs.2,000 (Rs.1,650 real money + Rs.350 worth of goods given to a lady)
Op answer please
2000
seriously guys this kind of things deals by our fruitsellers on daily basis and doing their business with perfection and in dd everybody is giving different answers 🤪
@androgame
i have now came with exhaustive solution and previous calculation is looking absurd and right at the same time
Bhai Rs350 ka maal bhi becha hai. Uska kya hua?
Aur Rs4000 cash in hand kyu assume kiya?
2000
Ab pata chala adhi janta ko math se dar kyun lagta hai
Me and math, we don’t get along so well. Still I read the question, came @ 2000 , read first comment by @balu44 and felt unnecessary to read further comments. Hours later came back to same thread and finds out there are others like me who messes up simple math.
I say to this myself on various occasions. Today some of you can have it for a bit.
You are not stupid, you just had a bad luck while thinking
Btw, the real answer is that the shopkeeper didn’t loose anything ’cause @skansari72 was asking about the other shopkeeper.
Answer is 2000 and zero
Now take this very example with small numbers.
1) A has 1₹ candy, lady comes gave 10₹ fake note. A gives it to B and give back 9₹ to lady and keep 1₹.
No loss of A as he gave 1₹ candy and got back 1₹.
2) B comes back to ask for return as note was fake, A gives back 1₹ + 9₹ extra from his pocket.
Loss of A= 10₹= 10₹
Now substitute this with original numbers.
Loss of A= 2000₹ goods= ₹2000
And Loss B= ₹0
If you consider shopkeeper both are shopkeeper. So there can be two answers.
U r double counting candy loss
Yes
Let’s assume that the shopkeeper A has no money in his pocket and has only Rs350 Grocery.
Forget about the Rs2000 Fake note.
Now, the shopkeeper A receives Rs2000 from the shopkeeper B and then shopkeeper A gives Rs1650 and Rs350 Grocery to the lady. And returns Rs2000 to shopkeeper B after realisation of the fake note.
350 Grocery
2000 from shopkeeper B
-1650 to lady
-350 grocery to lady
-2000 to shopkeeper B
Total -1650
Total Rs1650 loss in terms of money + Rs350 Grocery items sold.
So, in total Rs2000 loss.
yess this is correct
no problems anywhere
@skansari72 bro, is it okay if I pay off the loss of the shopkeeper? Calculating the loss of the shopkeeper is causing the loss of my mind.
It’s so Simple. Just imagine that he already had some cash and kill the shopkeeper of next shop.
Answer is
₹2,000/-
₹ Two Thousand Only
This is typical Profit-Loss problem with additional factors introduced to confuse.
Answer is 2000.
Explanation:
Focus only on 2 things. One is 350 worth goods and other is shopkeeper’s money locker.
Customer made purchase and left with goods and remaining 1650 money.
Now Shopkeeper is left with 350 and no goods.
Till this moment, He is not at loss or profit because he got his money back for his goods worth 350.
Now the other guy wants his money back for fake note.
Shopkeeper opened his money locker and gave him 2000.
Thats the only loss because it went from his own locker.
(People get many answers because they take 1650 which is not shopkeeper’s money and 350 which is goods money also into consideration)
Simple explanation here with 100% correct answer…
Don’t consider the angle of borrowing money from NEXT shop, that’s the biggest confusion!
Consider only 2 characters here, the Customer and the Shop keeper as simple!
Now, Let me explain..
Lady comes at shop, shops for 350 rs stuff, hands over 2000 rs fake note to shop keeper which at first glance seems real to the shop keeper. He than gives the change i.e 1650 rs and stuff worth 350 rs. The lady leaves.
After sometime shop keeper realises he was been cheated. Well he lost 1650 real money and 350rs worth item from his shop. Which is 2000rs in total! That’s it!
2000 is correct answer. PERIOD
4000 simple
Answer should be 2000.
Lady come with nothing (2k fake note value is 0). and went away with 1650 real cash and 350 worth goods. so she got 2k profit means. 2k loss to shopkeeper.
This 2k came from next shopkeeper (which is real cash).
now who will pay to next shopkeeper ? the original shopkeeper has to pay from his own pocket which is 2k again
next shop keeper 2k real cash taken by lady for nothing.
and original shop keeper has to pay 2k from his own pocket to next shopkeeper.
original shopkeeper loss = 2k.
That lady took the 2k from the 2nd shopkeeper’s account and not the 1st. So the 1st one has only 2k loss to the lady via the 2nd one.
Hence net loss of 2k only.
PS: Mention of the 2nd shopkeeper is for the confusion purpose only.
My 4th standard cousin answered it correctly within 1.5 min. Lol
Usko 2k ka loss hua kyuki 2k usene lady ko diya(350 + 1650) + 2k shop wala ayaa …total 4k but 2k ka nakli note jise lady ne usko chipkaya waise wo aage kisi ko chipka sakta hai na…
So final loss to him = 4k – 2k = 2k
Answer is 2000
Answer is 2000
EXPLANATION
Suppose shopkeper have 10000 rs in start Lady aai 2000(fake note) dia Shop vala vo note dusre shopkeper se change krwa laya Now i hv 12000rs.
Usme se 1650 lady ko cash dia + 350 ka saaman Cash left 12000-1650=10350
Ab dusra shopkeeper aaya or uske 2000rs mene vapas diye Cash left 10350-2000=8350 Or 350 ka loss vo saaman ki vjah se Total value left 8350-350=8000 Start m they 10000 Toh 2000rs ka loss
Rs.4000
350 (items) + 1650 cash provided to the lady + Rs.2000 returned back to the other shopkeeper who came back saying its fake = 4000
why did did shopkeeper A not check the note while taking from the lady
what if the other shopkeeper brings in another note which was fake and not the one which the shopkeeper A had given him…
2000
4000
Total 2000 loss
For a minute keep the 3rd party aside and think in customer and owner point of view..
So, when he keeps 350 aside for the goods he sold, there is no loss for goods he sold.
The only loss is in duplicate note ,so 2000 is the total loss
the explanation is fairly simple. If the note was not fake, the end result would be no profit no loss, however since the note is fake, total loss will be 2000.
If you go with the complicated explanation,
the woman gains 1650 cash (her profit) and 350 goods (again her profit), so total profit for her = 2000
shopkeeper has 350 cash (after returning 1650 to lady), if we subtract 2000 cash which he gave out of his own pocket, net loss in cash is 350-2000 = 1650, and also loss of goods which is for 350, so total loss for him will be 350 goods + 1650 cash = 2000
lastly, the lender had 2000 before, and 2000 after since he collected the genuine money back from shopkeeper after realising it was fake. So net profit/loss for him is 0.
@balu44 @rogerthat @saucap
Answer is 3650 rs loss
Clarification : First, don’t assume anything please. See, he gives lady 350 rs item and gets 350₹ in return + 1650 extra he paid to her. Then other shopkeeper took 2000 back so 2000 + 1650 given to lady = 3650 (not 4000 as 350 is with him only)
Simple enough?
