Hi all,

Went to book a maruti breeza and they are forcing to buy optional things like extended warranty and basic kit. Has anybody else also faced a similar issue? They are bluntly denying to book a car without accessories.

Suggestions please.

Change the dealer, It is not mandatory to have anything from the dealer even the insurance. You can check online price and request for a price match

If they still do not listen you can complain directly to Maruti.

You can also book a car online i think.  Have booking done at multiple dealership and then the one who gives first take it and cancel the rest of bookings.

Do not pay before PDI once PDI done you are happy then pay the full amount

Never ever waste money on a maruti, it is all bhedchaal. The mentality of kitna deti hai. Only tata or mahindra if you want budget friendly Indian brands or atleast Japanese one's. If budget is not a problem then those German beauties. Otherwise a Tesla.

Contacted maruti and they said it's all optional and dealer can't force you for the same... On the other hand dealer is now asking to take atleast one either EW or basic kit... And i am sure that they will delay the delivery...

I would personally have an extended warranty as peace of mind, Try different dealers outside your town too. They can also get it registered for you in your town.

Will try that option but they said if I get any music system or lights fixed from outside then the warranty will get void

Warranty doesn't void due to any outside installation. Only part which will be affected by those accessories will be not  covered in warranty. For example You can't claim warranty for speakers if using outside music system.

Overall vehicle warranty is not affected.

Warranty will get void if you cut any wires in your car, if your music system is plug and play then no issue on warranty.

The whole car warranty does not go away. Electric modification will not void warranty for mechanical parts.

If you install electrical accessories from outside and in future there is an electrical issue with the car they can deny electrical repair under warranty in that case.

If there is ever an electric fire and you have these accessories installed even insurance claim can get denied.

Lights outside of what manufacture suggest will get you in trouble with both warranty and insurance and if RTO gets stricter then with them too,

Thank you for the explanation. But i don't want EW and Accessories from showroom and they bluntly denied to take booking and now after raising a complaint they are ready to take booking without ew and basic kit. So will it be a good idea to book a car from that dealership? Previously they were ready to give me a car within 1 month inspite of waiting period... But now they might delay by few months

If you have any other options I would not choose this Dealer.
They are responsible for car delivery and after sales service and I would not want to deal with them after you filed a complaint against them.
