I have recently booked the Slavia 1.0 Sportline, but I am open to exploring other options in the budget range of ₹12 to ₹14 lakhs (on-road). My monthly usage is very minimal, around 200 KMs, so I am primarily looking for a car that is reasonable, cost-effective, and offers a good ownership experience.
I would love to hear your thoughts on the Slavia—whether it's a good choice for someone with such low running or if there are better alternatives in this price range.
Some key factors I am considering:
1. Low maintenance cost
2. Comfort and features
3. Resale value in the long term
4. Petrol option (since diesel may not be suitable for my usage)
If you have any recommendations or feedback about the Slavia or other cars in this segment, please let me know!

hmm how about honda city?
just thinking
I won't suggest you the Compact SUVs or the Sedans since your usage is very minimal. Also, since it doesn't seem like you have any special requirements, I would suggest you lower your budget and get a Baleno or a Fronx. Now I understand that their cars are criticized for poor build quality and poor interiors, but everything else just works - lower running cost, smooth engine and transmissions, comfortable ride, good resale value and so on.
And if you want to be pampered, get a Hyundai - maybe i20 or a Venue, and a Kia if you want to be pampered even more. Hyundai has better build and features, smooth engines, but just slightly higher maintenance cost. But since your running would be low, I don't think that the maintenance cost between a Maruti and a Hyundai would be of much significance.
Only 200 - 250 in a month then hire Audi or BMW etc for your Trip.

By the interest of 14L investment in MF.
Suggest a few of
If you are worried about resale stick to Maruti, hyundai. If you want lower maintenance stick to Maruti.
Honda amaze is best fit for your requirements
Looks bade odd hai iske
You can get 2nd hand (one/two years old) kushaq petrol automatic easily in this price. Mostly people purchase that 5 years service package for kushaq.
Why second hand - it saves Road tax, 5 Years 3rd party Insurace cost and service/warranty packages cost etc.
Prefer a petrol car with lower mileage (due to ur low usage and cheaper in second hand market) and higher safety standards.
Similarly you can consider Mahindra XUV 3XO.
● point# 4 is silent on the option of battery operated fuel source. so you are indifferent? Or totally averse?
● safety, build quality, crumple zones (to absorb, distribute the forces of impact) are some of the words i scanned for.. especially in the four points.. and did not find them.
comfort, features did get mentioned but I am unsure if they overlap in the Venn diagram.
Li-ion batteries are already hilariously inefficient and it would get mocked even more.. in the decades to come.
However, solid state cell technologies and consumer use solid stste batteries will become more and more viable (affordable, efficient) for consumer use applications.
Whether that innovation and upgrade happens during the lifetime of the upcoming vehicle purchase.. is a different story.
At 15~16 lakh, the 1.0 Automatic Skoda Slavia 'Sportline,' with 6 airbags as standard and great styling, is one of the best options you can buy in 2024 if practicality, safety, build quality, handling, and performance are your priorities, along with good fuel efficiency and almost all practical features without any niggles.
I got the offer at 14.50 final
Tbvh Slavia, Virtus are GOD level cars but they lack in features like ADAS, 360 deg camera and panoramic sunroof so tata Curvv tries to cover that up with that. It is all about priorities.
I completely agree with you but every car has some features and some bad , I like slavia just because of safety styling and german reliability
German cars are high in maintenance. Comes to almost 15k for every 15k kms. Vw skoda service every 20k kms recommended. Other brands every 10k kms
If u use less than 1k kms per month better buy some other brand
