Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has announced a substantial cut in the central excise duty levied on petrol and diesel. The move will bring the soaring prices of the two essential commodities down. The finance minister said that the Centre’s move will reduce the prices of petrol by Rs 9.5 per litre and of diesel by Rs 7 per litre.

don’t worry , now OMCs can increase fuel prices so costing will be same for the end user.

I’m guessing this based on under-recoveries – ₹10 per litre on petrol and ₹22-25 per litre on diesel currently for the OMCs.

Excise rate cut would be compensated by rate hike. Net price will not decrease.

Announcing the duty cut through tweets, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman also said the government will give Rs 200 per cylinder subsidy to Ujjwala Yojana beneficiaries for 12 cylinders in a year to help ease some of the burden arising from cooking gas rates rising to record levels.

godi media wale aise pagal hue hai aaj iss news ko leke jaise govt ne sab ke 15lacs hi dediye ho with interest 😂
