Middle income trap threat already looming and backtracking on reforms is one of the first nail in the coffin.

PS 15% GDP ke liye 50% workforce ko garib he rakho.

The new laws promise “One Nation One Market”
BJP CM of MP openly declares that no farmer from outside the State would be allowed to sell his produce in MP. So much for reforms.
These laws are pro business houses. Not pro farmers. Their purpose is to promote corporatisation of farming at the cost of farmers.
No MSP guarantee. Foodgrans and farm produces no longer essential items. No restrictions on hoarding. Just some of the salient features.

if a farmer think it corporatisation, then sale in APMC and increase wealth of middle-men.
APMC are going to be there.
There is no force in the law that do contract farming or sale to private companies.

  • Government is ready to give written assurance that the MSP system will stay.
  • Government is ready to amend the laws to allow states to register private traders for trading outside regulated mandis. In such mandis, state governments will be able to impose cess/fee as applicable at APMCs.
  • Government will make amendments to give farmers the option to approach civil courts to resolve disputes.
  • Government has assured farmers that no loan can be availed for any type of construction done on contracted land and nor can the sponsor encroach upon such construction after the contract ends.
  • Government has assured that lease, mortgage or sale of farmers’ land is prohibited. It also prohibits sponsors from acquiring ownership rights or making modifications on such land.
