Jio 10 mbps plan is 199+gst . extra 100 is only if you opt for ott pack. they also offer 399+gst for 30 mbps.
airtel has 499+gst for 40 mbps. 25% cashback with Axis airtel card, which makes it cheaper than jio 399 plan. but Airtel at many places still provide copper based vdsl connections.
Currently cheapest is jio 5g offer if you jio 5g coverage with around 200+ per month.
Put your 5g phone to 5g only mode and enjoy upto 500mbps avg speed.

Exitel gives 300mbps in 499 p/m to new user

Copper based VDSL is older technology. Connection terminates in a splitter. From splitter connects a normal landline and a VDSL router. Upload speed is upto 25% of download speed. Max supported speed for VDSL is 100 mbps. But airtel mostly provides 40 mbps download and 8 mbps upload. But as its copper based, it is more solid wire less prone to damages.
Optical fiber is newer technology and you get one router+ONT or one ONT and one router. Connection terminates to ONT and landline services are provided through VOIP. Upload and download speeds are same. But fiber wires need to be better managed and are prone to damages. Fiber can give multi-gigabit speeds.

Jio throttles 5G speed to around 40 mbps when used in hotspot mode.

Here only airtel is serviceable
Airtel has a cheaper plan to this ? Looking to switch if available
Take my hotspot in just 50₹/ month ,data unlimited, speed 10mbps

No, This is their CHEAPEST - BASE Plan
But, Make sure to check that are they Providing Copper Based or Fiber Based.
As I have seen in many places that airtel is having Copper Based Line (Read it on DD)
I have FIBER-BASED BROADBAND. Which works flawlessly also if you recharge long-term for 6 months,it will cost 500/Month
Yes, they gave 15% off on 6 months plan .
Not sure how to identify between copper and fiber connection. Its been 15 days since i registered though, didnt face any downtime and speed is satisfactory around 50 mbps

Even, if you check your wires you will find that thin fibres like hair then it would be fiber otherwise copper

Ppl are reporting jio sim not working in mr600 if 5g offer activated.
